Hoseok slowly made his way through the small hallways of the cabin, letting his nose guide him. It was the first night he stayed here and he didn't sleep a single minute. Not because he was scared, but he was just so uncomfortable. The bed itself was fine, it was a little cold but not too much. It was just, too quiet. Being born and raised in the biggest city in South Korea... having to fall asleep without all the lights and cars was almost impossible.

"Oh, you're awake."

Hoseok blinked his thoughts away as his eyes found you, standing at the stove, head turned over your shoulder as you gave him a light smile.

"Are you hungry?"

Hoseok simply shrugged, taking a few more steps into the kitchen. He couldn't focus with your hair up so messily, sweats hung low on your waist. Your smallish t-shirt didn't help, exposing the skin around your hip bone.

Jesus man, Hoseok yelled in his head. Stop staring at her like a creep, she can shoot a rifle for god's sake.

"You're not allergic to anything right? Or are you a vegetarian or something?"

"No." Hoseok answered, stopping awkwardly in the middle of the kitchen.

"Okay well," You chuckled lightly, turning all the way around to face him. "I know this must be really tough for you, I can't even imagine half the things going through your head right now, but you really don't have to be uncomfortable around me. If you want we don't even have to talk at all if that will make you feel better, I'm out of the house a lot anyway-"

"No, it's," Hoseok interrupted you. "It's okay I don't want to be a burden to you, you shouldn't have to change the way you live just because of me."

"You're no burden." You shook your head, looking back to the stove. "Honestly I get bored a lot by myself so it's nice to have you here and-" You jerk yourself to a stop, spinning around to face him again. "I mean, it's not nice that you're here- well it is but the reason why you're here is not nice but it's-"

Hoseok couldn't help but laugh. "Y/N it's alright. It's not really that big of a sensitive subject to me."

"Really?" Your raised an eyebrow. "Having a killer after you isn't a sensitive subject?"

Hoseok shrugged. "There have been no signs of someone trying to kill me, it's really just a hunch of the police since whoever this guy is, is targeting people like me." Hoseok shook his head lightly. "I'm not really scared since nothing has happened that has given me a reason to be so."

You narrowed your eyes in slight confusion, but the moment Hoseok started to get unnerved at your look, you cleared your face and hummed in response. "Fair enough." You put your attention back to whatever you were doing at the stove.

Hoseok made his way to one of the bar chairs at the island behind you, resting his chin in his hand. "So what all do you do up here? Your uncle said you fixed cars, is that it?"

"Of course not." He could hear the beautiful smile in your voice. "Honestly that's more of a hobby of mine, not a lot of people around here have cars that need fixing all the time. I'm sure you can assume what happens when it's hunting season, but other than that, it's really just nice to live in a quiet place. The small town a little ways from here is a rest stop for most. There is a bus stop in the middle of town from people heading cross country. It's a come and go town, not a permanent stop. I like that."

"I don't know if I could live in a place like this," Hoseok said in all honesty.

"City boy, huh?" You chuckled. "It's not that I hate the city, I lived there my whole life, until two years ago. I go back every once in a while, my uncle lives there and I try to see him as much as I can."

Hoseok was about to ask about your parents, but he held his tongue, not thinking the two of you were that close yet.

"Well," You let out a sigh in the small silence. "I'm sure we can find a few things to keep you occupied, and don't worry." You turned around, placing a plate in front of him, covered with mouth-watering food. "I've got wifi."

You left Hoseok alone with his food as you stepped outside for a moment, answering the call coming from your uncle.

"Yes, I think so." You looked down at your feet, kicking at the rocks. "As well settled in as he can be, that is."

"I'm sorry about this, Y/N. I really appreciate this favor."

"Of course." You wrapped your one arm around yourself. "It's not a problem at all, truly. Just keep me posted on the investigation on your end."

"Sure." He let out a light breath. "He's not giving you any problems is he?"

"No." You honestly answered. "He's quiet, and he seems uncomfortable around me, but I figured that would happen. It's a little strange how unbothered he is by a killer targeting him though." You looked behind you, your eyes lingering on him sitting at the table, unmoving. "You didn't tell him the whole truth, did you?"

It was silent for a moment. "No. I let his parents know of course, but telling him just seemed almost cruel. It's better this way, he won't be constantly looking over his shoulder. We're going to catch this guy soon, and no harm will come to this boy."

"He's sweet, I can tell." You kept your eyes on him. "He can stay here as long as needed, I really don't mind." You finally looked back down, kicking at the same rock. "Besides," You forced out a laugh. "Who in the hell would find him here?"
