7: The Lethuda

Drayko looked at the Lethuda outside. It looked horrifying. "I've never seen that one yet", Drayko said as he scanned Lethuda with the Pokédex.

"Lethuda: the black widow Pokémon, and the evolved form of Venegra. A bug and poison type. It's venom becomes more potent upon evolution. The venom is now powerful enough to melt down the most solid objects, including most buildings. Any biological contact with its venom will burn the victim to a black acidic mush".

Drayko and the others shuddered by the Pokédex entry of Lethuda. It shot out its venom from its sharp fangs onto a nearby house. It burned the wood and concrete with ease, but fortunately the residents got out in time and fled to the gym. All other residents of Simex City rushed inside the gym soon after. There is a mix of fear and confusion.

"You don't have to worry, folks. This gym can withstand almost any Pokémon attack, including Lethuda's acid attack. Unfortunately, communication is down and we can't call for help. If anybody has any ideas, please share as soon as you can", Ronald says enthusiastically despite the chaos going on inside.

Drayko, Jake, and the girl talk together quietly. The 3 then go up to Ronald with a smile. "I know what to do", Drayko said. Him, Jake, and the girl each take out a pokeball boldly. "I know what you're thinking, and Ulifly will help too", Ronald said as Ulifly nods in agreement. Drayko scanned Ulifly with the Pokédex.

"Ulifly: the butterfly Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Ulivae. A bug and flying type. This Pokémon has minor psychic abilities and produces special powders and spreads them on its wings. These powders can poison, stun, or tranquilize its opponents. Ulifly flaps it's wings to spread its powder onto its foes. This has caused scientists to believe that Ulifly is closely related to Butterfree along with its pre evolutions".

"What Pokémon do you 3 have?", Ronald asked. Drayko and Jake sent out Orqua and Scalaby respectively. The girl then throws her pokeball, sending out a Weavile.

"A Weavile!", Jake said in amazement. Weavile gave a sly smirk. "Weavile can take care of things", the girl said with confidence. Drayko scanned Weavile.

"Weavile: the sharp claw Pokémon and the evolved form of Sneasel. A dark and ice type. Weavile communicates by marking a surface with claw marks. They travel in packs of 4 to 5 when they hunt their prey. They are one of the most intelligent dark type Pokémon. Weavile usually inhabits cold icy areas"

"Are you 3 ready?", asked Ronald. Drayko nods and he, Jake, the girl, and Ronald step outside. The Venegras and Lethuda already did a lot of damage, but the 4 heroes won't be stopped by it.

"Ulifly, use confusion to round them all up!", Ronald commanded. Ulifly's eyes glowed it's cyan color as the Venegras get bunched up tightly together. Lethuda was too distracted to notice. "Quick, attack while they can't move!", Ronald said. Orqua, Scalaby, and Weavile used water gun, tackle, and icy wind respectively and the Venegras take the hits.

They use quick attack and break free of the confusion attack and manages to tackle Scalaby. The Venegra that attacked Scalaby then used poison sting, thus poisoning the dragon Pokémon. It screeched in pain.

"Scalaby, return!", Jake said as Scalaby was sent back in its pokeball. Orqua used water gun as commanded by Drayko. Orqua managed to take out 3 of the Venegras, and one used bug bite on Weavile. Due to its dark typing, Weavile was severely affected by it and hissed in pain.

"My poor baby...hang in there and use icy wind again!", the girl said. Weavile leashed out a very powerful icy wind attack, scattering the small shards of ice at the Venegras, causing a critical hit. The last of the Venegras realized they were going to be defeated by Weavile, and they quickly crawled away back into the forest.

"Yeah! We did it, Weavile! Awesome work!", the girl said as her and Weavile jumped in joy. However, there was something lurking behind her. It was getting closer and hissed. The girl turned around and saw the massive Lethuda. It looked like it was 6'3". Lethuda powered up its fangs and lunged at the girl. Just before Lethuda takes a hit, it was stopped by Ulifly's confusion. Lethuda was lifted high up into the air, about 15 feet, and then slammed to the ground. Lethuda barely got up, and realized it was defeated. It slowly limped its way back to the forest, never to return again.

The citizens in the gym come flooding out the entrance to cheer Drayko, the girl, Jake, and Ronald for their heroic act. "That should teach them a lesson for messing with Simex City! I want to thank you 3 for your help", Ronald said to Drayko, Jake, and the girl.

Ronald looks at Orqua and then at Drayko. "So, you're a new trainer, huh?". "Yeah. I wanted to come to Simex City for my first gym badge", replied Drayko. "You're welcome to come to the gym at any time, Drayko. I will happily challenge you", Ronald said with a smile as he returned Ulifly and went back into the gym.

Drayko then turned to the girl. "You've really beat those Venegras. Thank you", Drayko said. "I should thank you the most. You attempted to save me back there on route 1. That was very...very...", the girl had tears going down her cheeks. "Compassionate...", the girl said with her cracked up voice due to the crying. "You barely see that in a person. People barely see it in me...", the girl said and wipes away her tears.

"I don't. I can see somebody beautiful inside you. You may not see it, but I do", Drayko said with a smile. "Also, I've never got your name", Drayko said curiously.

"Violet's my name. I'm sorry I couldn't introduce myself sooner". Drayko smiled. "Where are you off to?", Violet asked. "I'm traveling all through Coex. Jake is joining along". Violet looked down nervously. "M-May I...join you guys?", Violet asked shyly. "That'd be nice. Very nice", Drayko said with a smile.

"This means a lot to me. Thank you", Violet hugs Drayko unexpectedly. Meanwhile, Jake is looking through a few burned houses, possibly looking for valuables that survived the attack. "Hey Jake! Violet's joining us!", Drayko said to Jake at a distance.

Jake walked up to Drayko and Violet. "Where to now?", Jake asked. Drayko looked at the gym and walked towards it. Jake and Violet followed soon after.
