25: Impulsa Studies

The gang are eating outside of a restaurant. Violet has dark chocolate sorbet while Dahlia has strawberry sorbet. Drayko and Jake have the signature Electrica Eclairs, but the Draconian has far more than the other.

"Oof, brain freeze!", Dahlia said after eating a spoonful of sorbet.

"Haha, what a baby!", Violet said, laughing. "I can handle the cold far more better than you. Just watch". Violet takes in spoonful after spoonful of her sorbet. The girl's face turned blue from the cold treat, and gave up.

"How cute. Someone older than me acting childish", a girl's voice said from the table behind. The girl's hair was blonde and she had a long strand of hair flow down, which was held by a pin. She had a sleeveless brown shirt with yellow zigzags that were similar to lightning bolts. The girl also has white jean shorts and bright yellow shoes.

"What was that?", Violet asked and faced the girl.

The girl smiles. "Oh nothing. I figured you would be more mature"

"Listen kid, I can be 100 times more mature than you. Are you saying I'm childish?"

"Who even are you?", Jake asked.

"My name's Bonnie. I'm the gym leader and research assistant of the most brilliant guy in Kalos!".

Drayko got excited after the girl introduced herself. "I never knew finding the gym leader was going to be so easy!"

Bonnie giggles and looks up at Drayko. "I may be easy to find, but defeating me is the exact opposite".

"You're Clemont's sister?", Dahlia asked. "That guy creates the best inventions!"

"Yep. I was originally from Kalos, and I wanted to do research on the subregion of Imperium Fields. The natural electric field that surrounded the area interested me along with my brother. Clemont supported me and I came to this region. I trained Pokémon I bought with me, and eventually became a gym leader. I was always called the little lightning, because I get things done so fast!"

"So could you battle me?", Drayko asked. "I'm looking for a gym badge".

"Sorry, I can't right now. I need to do some research on the local cave system".

"What cave system?"

"Inpulsa Caverns! It's very similar to Chargestone Cave in Unova, and I want to compare samples to determine all the similarities. What if both cave systems were somehow connected, giving a passage way from Coex to Unova? Wow, it's so exiting!".

"That's awesome!", Jake exclaimed.

"Do you mind if we help you?", Dahlia asked. "I'm sure there's something we can do".

"Of course! The more help the better. I just need somebody to carry a couple of things".

=10 minutes later=

The group arrives at the cave's entrance. Bonnie's hair sticks up in the air, presumably from static electricity.

"Fascinating", Bonnie said. "This cave seems to give off static electricity. Jake, try to stay with us".

Jake has several pieces of machinery that is carried on his back. The Draconian looks agitated. "I have like, a bajillion pounds on my back! It's not easy carrying it all!".

Bonnie sighed and takes off some equipment. "Fine. Drayko, I want you to map out this cave. Take this mapping device". Drayko is given the device.

"I'm on it!".

"Violet, I need you to measure the amount of electricity on the Chargestones. Take this multimeter". Violet is given a multimeter.

"Whatever".
