30: Phase 2

"Well, Drayko?", asked Dahlia. She seemed very competitive while holding Wigglytuff's pokeball. Dahlia was pumped full of energy.

"I never expected someone so sweet to be competitive".

"When it comes to Pokémon battles, I am super competitive!".

"Awesome. Then let's get started!"

As with all gym battles, Drayko and his opponent stand at opposite ends of the battlefield. Strangely enough, Mime Jr was in the referee's place.

"Looks to me that Mime Jr wants to make the rules for our battle", said Drayko.

"Go ahead, Mime Jr".

"1 Pokémon only! Let the battle start!", Mime Jr said in telepath.

"Go, Wigglytuff!". Dahlia's Pokémon is sent out. Drayko scans it with the Pokédex.

"Wigglytuff: the balloon Pokémon. A normal and fairy type. It's fur is very fine and soft, which makes this Pokémon highly sought after. When threatened or angry, it sucks up air rapidly and inflates many times larger than itself. In this state, it can float up in the air at incredible heights".

"Ready, Hayprick? Use pin missile!"

The missiles are hurled in Wigglytuff's direction.

"Dodge it!", said Dahlia. "It's time to play rough, Wigglytuff! Go!".

Wigglytuff lunges at Hayprick and rolls itself on top of it playfully. Then, it throws Hayprick into the air. As Hayprick returns to the ground, Wigglytuff bounces itself towards Hayprick, causing it to faint.

"What?! That's crazy!", exclaimed Drayko.

Dahlia smiles and giggles. "Didn't expect that, didn't you?".

"Hayprick, return. Whalruph, I choose you!". Whalruph is sent out. "Use karate chop!".

"Wigglytuff, Use double slap!".

The 2 Pokémon run at each other. Wigglytuff slaps Whalruph in the face on one side, and then slaps the other side while Whalruph never got to hit.

"Now sing!".

Wigglytuff sings passionately and it echoes throughout the battlefield. Drayko covers his ears.

"Don't listen to it, Whalruph! You'll fall asleep!".

Whalruph does not listen. It yawns before falling asleep.

"Double slap!". Wigglytuff proceeds to slap Whalruph twice. To both of the trainer's surprises, Whalruph wakes up from the slap.

"Impossible...", Thought Dahlia.

"Use water pulse!". A strong pulse of water slams into Wigglytuff. It shakes the water off it's fine fur and glares.

"Play rough! PLAY LIKE YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE!". Something seems different about Dahlia. The sweet innocent girl that Drayko knew must've vanished. This one is very very competitive. Her eyes bloodshot, sweat runs down her forehead.

Wigglytuff charges, but Drayko knew what to do.

"Counter with karate chop!"

Wigglytuff, To Drayko's surprise, grabbed the bash Pokémon's arm and pulled it in. Wigglytuff's roughhousing was so intense that it kicked up a bunch of dust from the battlefield and it surrounded the 2 Pokémon. As the dust subsides, Whalruph has fainted.

"Whalruph...return". Drayko takes out his last pokeball. It was Parasweet. "Parasweet, I choose you!".

Dahlia breathes heavily like an insane person. "Come on, fight. DON'T JUST STAND THERE. FIGHT!".

Drayko has a flashback of the battle between him and Tristan back in Drako Village. "Yes...Parasweet, Use fairy wind!".

A mystical pink dust-filled twister surrounds Wigglytuff. It gets slightly damaged by the abrasion of the thick dusts.

"Wigglytuff, fan it away by double slap!". The balloon Pokémon attempts to fan the fairy wind away, the wind slowly getting weaker.

"Get behind Wigglytuff and use wing attack!".

Wigglytuff quickly looks behind itself, but sees nothing. It panics and looks around itself. Then, Wigglytuff feels a pain in its back. It was so bad that Wigglytuff falls to the ground, fainting. The fairy wind subsides.

"H-Huh?". Dahlia looks at Wigglytuff. "How...".

"Because you are nothing but weak, you little twerp...", a man's voice said.

"Who said that?".

A canister rolls in the center of the battlefield and sprays a dark gas. 2 figures appear when the gas subsides. It was Ash and Ashley.

"You guys again? Oh geez...".

Ash and Ashley throw their pokeballs, sending out their Pokémon.

Mime Jr hops in front of Dahlia to protect her.

"A Mime Jr, huh? Hah! We might as well convert this little clown to a dark type!", Ash said amusingly.

Mime Jr's beady black eyes glow a bright cyan. A same colored aura surrounds Houndour and Saikil, but it quickly fades away.

"No, Mime Jr! Your psychic abilities can't affect dark type Pokémon!", Dahlia said.

"True, but our dark abilities can severely affect psychic types like the little clown!", Ashley said.

Nomey peeps out of Dahlia's pocket and the swirl on its body starts to glow and turn, getting Ash, Ashley, and their Pokémon's attention. They stare blankly at the gnome Pokémon.

Dahlia looks down at Nomey. "What are you doing, Nomey?"

"I think it's using hypnosis!", said Drayko.

"I think it's really bad to bother our friends.....", said Ashley.

"We should probably go.....", replied Ash.

"Return, Saikil..."

"You too, Houndour..."

Ash and Ashley activate their teleportation devices and fade away.

Nomey's swirl stops glowing, and it falls back asleep.

"Huh, I guess it had a power we didn't know...", thought Drayko.
