33: The Inimicus Cave "Beast"

As the gang walks, the pink leaf trees are vanishing and there is desertlike terrain. There are a few small shrubs, and in the distance is a large plateau that is very tall.

"Is that Crystalli Plateau?" Asked Drayko.

"Yep. It's something, ain't it? I can't believe they managed to build a town on top." Dahlia said.

Drayko looked at his Pokédex with an upset face. "Route 6 is long. Very long, actually." Drayko starts sweating. "It's pretty hot out here too."

"Route 6 is located in a desert. What do you expect?" Violet said and takes off her leather jacket. She has a white top underneath.

"Chill out, my dudes!" A male voice was heard before the gang gets blasted with freezing cold air and snow. Drayko and the others shiver from the cold, but get warmed up again by the desert's heat. The man was in a truck with a Vanillish. They both wore sunglasses. The man had blonde hair, wore an orange shirt and white shorts.

"What was that for?" Violet asked angrily as her shirt was soaked by the melted snow.

"Sorry, my dudes. It looked like you guys needed to cool down. I had Vanillish use blizzard. I'm Chris, and I sell icy treats to Route-sixers so they can fight the heat!" Drayko scanned Vanillish with the Pokédex.

"Vanillish: the icy snow Pokémon, and the evolved form of Vanillite. An ice type. During the ice age, Vanillish migrated to snowy mountains in southern areas. It can freeze the local air to form shards of ice, which can be used on opponents. Many ice cream salespeople use this Pokémon as "living advertisements"."

Violet grumbles, still upset from getting wet.

"Heh, since I got Little Miss Grumpy-Pants upset, the treats are on the house! Er, truck."

"That's so nice of you, Chris!" Dahlia said.

Chris takes out a box containing many liquids in many different colors. "Any requests, my dudes?"

"Strawberry."

"Dark chocolate."

"Vanilla."

"Blueberry."

Chris pours the liquid into 4 cups. "Time for my favorite part. Vanillish, use ice beam!"

Vanillish powered up ice beam and shot it directly at the cups, freezing the liquid and transforming them into a delicious frozen treat. Drayko, Dahlia, Violet, and Jake got their ice creams and started to eat them.

"Well, I gotta get going. Where are you off to?" Asked Chris.

"We're going to Pugnatum Town." Said Drayko.

"Ah, I see. That's a long way up the plateau. You gotta go in Inimicus Cave to get to the top. You dudes can't be walking out here. Want a ride?"

"That's too kind. That would be great!" Drayko said.

"Well hop on in, my dudes!"

The gang goes in the back of the truck, and Chris takes off in the direction of the plateau.

=45 minutes later=

They arrive at the plateau. Drayko looks up and gasps in awe. The plateau towers several hundreds of feet above the group.

"It's so big!" Dahlia exclaimed.

Violet smirks. "You wanna know what else that's bi-"

"Alrighty, my dudes. Take care up there! And watch out for the beast that roams the cave. It might eat your draconian friend! Haha!" Chris drives away at full speed, leaving a cloud of dust.
