16: Mom's Cooking

Everyone looked at the Violet when she called the woman her mother. "She's your mom?", asked Drayko. Violet nodded. "Who are these kids with you?",asked Violet's mother. "I would like you to meet Drayko and Jake. That younger boy was someone we saved from...um.", Violet tried to remember what happened previously, but suddenly forgot. "I know we saved him, but from what?", asked Violet. Drayko and Jake look around in confusion along with the boy. "Yeah, what did we save him from?", Asked Jake. The boy stood up.

"Where are you going now, kid?", Jake asked. "Me and Stunky are going home. Whatever you saved me from, I want to thank you for that. Goodbye.", the boy walked down the street and into the thick fog, not being visible.

"You 3 seem very exhausted. Violet, bring your friends to the house. We could talk over some tea and dark chocolate brownies.", Violet's mom said. "My mother is a great cook. You'll be impressed."

=10 minutes later=

Drayko, Jake, and Violet are sitting down in the living room. Like the rest of Tenebris City, the room has a dark gothic style. Dark furniture, black painted walls, old photos on the wall with black framing, a black and white carpet, and a light scent of dust is what the living room consisted of. The bittersweet scent of dark chocolate fills the house. Drayko and Jake try to adjust to the smell, not being used to these types of aromas. However, Violet has her eyes closed in bliss and inhales through her nose, and exhales through her mouth happily.

"I missed mom's cooking. It was so perfect.", Violet said, smiling. Her mother comes out with oven mitts holding a steaming pan. It is placed on the coffee table. In the pan are the dark chocolate brownies Violet's mother mentioned before. They were pitch black, but weren't burnt at all. They looked rather soft and moist. "Make sure they cool down before you take one", Violet's mother said before sitting down.

"So, Drayko is it? Where were you and the others heading to?". "I'm traveling all through Coex for an adventure. I already got my first gym badge, and I came to Tenebris City for my second one". "That's great to hear! Violet will be more than happy to challenge you!". "Another Violet, huh? What a coincidence". "Haha! Nice joke. My daughter is the gym leader". Drayko and Jake look at Violet in shock.

"You're the gym leader?", Drayko asked in amazement. Violet nods. "I've been acting as a secondary gym leader while she was away. I think it's best if you didn't battle me, but you battled the real leader of the Tenebris City gym!". Violet looks at Drayko and grins, taking out a pokeball. "I specialize in dark type Pokémon if you didn't tell already. I hope you got strategy". "You can go battle...after you all eat the brownies! I can't let them go to waste!", Violet's mother said, chuckling. "Thank you for the brownies, ma'am. These are great!", Drayko said before taking a bite of the dark brownie. "Thank you, sweetie. Its so nice to hear. Also, call me Lavender".
