14: The Search for Stunky

Drayko, Jake, and Violet finally arrive in Tenebris City. The buildings have a dark gothic look to them. All the people have gothic style clothing. Heavy metal is heard playing somewhere very loudly. The locals are looking at Drayko and Jake strangely.

"Don't mind them. They just haven't seen many travelers pass by here for a while. I can understand that, actually. I mean, look at you 2. It's not everyday we see people this colorful and full of life...", Violet said. "How did you manage to grow up here? Wouldn't you be creeped out at least once?", Drayko said. "Are you kidding me? I love it here. I love the people and culture of the city. I just wanted to get out some more and away from those 2 idiots that we met earlier. Fun fact: My mother gave birth to me unexpectedly right where you 2 are standing. You can faintly see the blood from 15 years ago on the street". Drayko and Jake scooted away from that area.

Suddenly, a young boy is seen calling out for a Pokémon. "Stunky? Where are you?!", the boy cried out. "Is something the matter?", Drayko asked. "Have you seen a Stunky around here? He's missing!", the boy cried. "Not that we know of. How did you lose him?", Drayko asked. "We were just walking through Tenebris Park, and Stunky was gone when I turned around! I'm scared that he's hurt, or even worse, dead!".

"Do you know where Tenebris Park is, Violet?", asked Drayko. "Of course! I used to go there all the time! Follow me".

=10 minutes later=

Drayko, Jake, Violet, and the boy arrive at Tenebris Park. It's a piece of land surrounded by old metal gates. The grass is dead and grey along with its trees. The paths are very old and cracked. "I'm not surprised", Jake said. "Where was the last place you've seen Stunky?", asked Drayko. "We were near the pond and all I did was look away for a second, and he was gone!".

Jake walks near a dark pond. "Is this the pond you're talking about?". Suddenly, a Carvanha leaps out the pond and traps Jake's head inside its mouth. Jake screams and struggles to get it off. "There are Carvanha in the park?!", Drayko exclaimed. "Yeah, so?", the boy said casually. Jake opens Carvanha's jaws and throws the Pokémon back into the pond where it sprays water on Jake.

Suddenly, a purple tail is seen by the boy for a second before it goes behind an old stone structure in the middle of the park. "Stunky! He went behind the city memorial!", the boy said and he runs to the memorial. Soon after, he vanished. Drayko spots a dark crescent moon symbol on the back of the memorial. "What's this doing behind the memorial?". Violet sighed as she looked at the symbol and sent out Weavile. "I got this. Weavile, put your hand onto the moon", Violet said as Weavile did so. The moon lit up and Drayko, Jake, and Violet suddenly vanished and found themselves in a dim, dark metal room. "What did you even do? Where are we?", Jake asked Violet. "We are in Team Dusk HQ. Anyone with a dark type Pokémon can get in here as long as you know about it. Stay quiet and be alert".

People can be heard outside the room. There is a sudden hard knock on the door. "Hey! Who's in there?", a man said, wanting an answer. "Quick, in the vents!", Violet whispered and points to a vent. Once they were in, they quickly closed it and the man walked in the room to look around. He's wearing the same style clothes as Ash and Ashley. "Just a grunt. Don't worry. I've been here a couple times both on my own will or forced, so I know my way around here. Just follow me, and keep quiet", Violet said.

Jake's horns scratched the top of the vent as he crawled, thus creating a loud scratching noise. "Jake, I swear to god if we get caught because of you...", Violet said and kicks Jake's snout. They keep crawling and there is a vent fence on the bottom. Outside of the vent looked like a laboratory. There were large test tubes with small fairy type Pokémon consisting of Flabebe, Azurill, and a Comfey. "Those poor Pokémon...but why only fairy types?", Drayko said sadly. "Team Dusk scientists are trying to figure out a way to change a Pokémon's secondary type specifically to dark. However, they want fairy types to change to dark all together. Maybe it's best...", Violet said. "What?! Are you mad? We gotta save them!", Drayko said, trying to break open the vent fence.

"Keep your voice down. Besides, you can't help them now. Look at what the monitors say". Each monitor says "terminated" in big red letters. Drayko sighed and a tear went down his cheek. "Let's just...keep moving on now", Violet said.

They go farther and eventually reaches a dead end. The room outside the vent fence looks rather fancy with classy gothic decor. There is a large black desk with a chair encrusted with onyx. A bulky man with a black suit and a shiny bald head is sitting at the desk. Ash and Ashley come in the room holding a cage and carrying the boy who was unconscious. "Ah, a Stunky. I'm glad you 2 idiots were successful for once. But who's the child?", asked the man. "Some kid got in the way with our operations, Mr. Magnarex. Plus, he's a witness. It'll cause too much unwanted publicity for Team Dusk", said Ash. "Good, Ash. Good. The child could be useful for Team Dusk...".

The vent fence is kicked out by Jake and he falls face first onto the floor. "Don't I know you from somewhere?", asked Ashley. Violet, then Drayko land on Jake's back. "It's those punks from before! Let's rock and roll, Houndour!", Ash said and sends out his Pokémon. "Parasweet, use disarming voice!", Drayko said and throws his pokeball, sending out Parasweet. It uses disarming voice at Houndour, causing it to grow weak. "Don't be weak and use flamethrower!". Parasweet dodges it and the flames hit the wall, causing a fire. "Watch where you aim the flames, idiot! This wallpaper is very expensive!", Boss Magnarex said.

"Use smokescreen!", the boy commanded Stunky. The skunk Pokémon creates a big cloud of smoke, giving the boy and the gang a chance to escape. Violet closes the door behind her and puts a steel pole in the handles to trap the boss and grunts inside the office. "Great work, kid. Now let's get out of here!", Jake said.

Violet began running in a series of hallways and the others followed her, trusting that she knows the way out. "This is the way out!Follow me, and don't stop!", Violet said and points to an open doorway. Another grunt with a Tyranitar blocks the doorway. "Use hyper beam!", the grunt commanded as Tyranitar charged up its beam. The gang takes cover in a nearby hallway and the powerful beam is fired, causing the whole facility to shake. The ceiling collapses, trapping the gang inside the hallway. The lights flicker on and off, and everything goes silent.

"Looks like we're trapped now", Drayko said, shaking nervously. Violet sighed and walked ahead, the others not following her. "Where are you going?", Jake asked. "Are you 3 gonna stand there and wait to die or are we gonna stick together and find a way out?".
