22: Herb

Violet's words echoed in Drayko's head, Dahlia was frozen in shock, and Jake was surprised. "What do you me-". Drayko was interrupted by Tristan's flying. He lands near the group. "I saw the battle from up top Mt. Cornu". Tristan looks at Violet. "I also heard your shouting. Girl, you have a loud voice". "We're fine, dad. We are about to head off to Electrica City". "If you say so. All of you stay safe". Tristan walks away and the 4 head towards the route.

"Electrica City is gonna be a bit far away. We might have to set up camp soon", Drayko said. "It's kinda spooky out here at night. We should get a move on", Dahlia said. The group enter Route 4.

The beginning of Route 4 has the same jagged rocks from Drako Village. As the group goes further, trees began to appear more often. Meanwhile, Drayko was looking at his Pokédex. "Electrica City is said to be the #1 place to visit in Coex. There's a lot of places to go. Wow, and there's a museum right next to C.I.O.I! "The Museum of Then, Now, and Beyond" is what it's called. It's funded by the institute", Drayko said in amazement.

"Coex scientists recently created that new Pokémon E-CO and several of its evolutions at C.I.O.I", Dahlia said. "We're heading there to deliver this modification. I hope we get to see it".

Dahlia tries to walk with Violet. "It sure is great that we're traveling together! Where are you from?". "I'm from Tenebris City. Born and raised", Violet replied. The purple haired girl is noticeably uncomfortable, but Dahlia doesn't see it. "That's cool! I'm from Mediokris City! It's the most peaceful city in Coex". Jake overhears the conversation and shudders. "More like the most sinister city". Violet began to cry. "Mediokris City, huh? I don't even know how to get through after what happened...". "What happened?", Dahlia asked in concern. "I just don't wanna talk about it. It will just make my life more difficult". "Ok then!". Dahlia hugs Violet, but it does not go well. Violet let's out a scream and shoves the other girl away, causing Dahlia to fall to the ground.

Drayko and Jake, who was in front of the 2 girls look back at Dahlia on the ground. "Are you okay?", Drayko asked. Dahlia pulls down one of her leggings and a scraped knee is seen bleeding. "That looks bad. We should get this cleaned up. Nothing that ancient Draconian medicinal techniques can't do!". Jake takes out a small box and opens it up. He takes out a mortar and pestle, Oran berries, and herbs.

"It's a third after 4 already?", Violet asked, spotting the herbs. "Very funny. These are dragon herbs. They have healing properties and makes you more resistant to injuries. It can even be used on Pokémon to raise its defense sharply, not to mention restore its health". Jake squirts the juice from the berries into the mortar and pestle and puts the herbs in. The ingredients are crushed and the Draconian applies the mixture onto the wound. "There, it should be healed soon. Are you okay?". Dahlia nods and stands. "Thank you so much! I feel like I never even fell!". The girl then hugs Jake. The Draconian felt uncomfortable and shivered a bit, but he managed to keep his cool. "I think we should start walking again", Jake said nervously.

=2 hours later=

The gang stops and sets up the table for lunch. Jake is at his pot cooking. "I'm so hungry! I can't believe we skipped lunch!", Violet exclaimed. "I hope you like fried noodles. I'm adding Slash Herb for a bit of spice", Jake said as he tosses the noodles in the pot, adding some crushed up herbs. "Slash Herb?", Drayko asked. "Yes, Slash Herb. It is said to give you strength. It can also sharply increase a Pokémon's attack stat. You see, us Draconians use many herbal products for ourselves and our Pokémon to grow stronger and create a bigger bond. Scalaby and I grow closer each day. She loves my cooking". Scalaby comes out her pokeball and screeches happily. "Looks like someone's hungry". Jake chuckles.

=3 hours later=

The sun begins to set and the forest surrounding the route darkens. "We should probably set up camp and continue tomorrow. I'm tired from all this walking", Drayko said and looks into his bag, pulling out a sleeping bag. Violet looks in her bag as well. "Aw man, I forgot to pack a sleeping bag!". "It's okay, I packed a spare one. You're welcome to use mine!", Dahlia said and pulls out 2 sleeping bags. One is light pink and has a Flabebe design and the other is a light green with a Cottonee design. Violet stares at them in shock.

"Which one would you like, Violet? Your choice!". "I'd rather sleep inside a Muk's mouth than sleep in any of those. Not happening, girl". "Aww okay. I enjoy sharing with anyone who is in need. If you change your mind, let me know". Dahlia sets up a pink, fairy-themed tent and Jake sets up a plain green one. Drayko notices Violet standing a bit far away from the tents. "Hey Violet, aren't you gonna sleep in Dahlia's tent?". "No way. I'm just gonna take a dirt nap. "Are you sure about that? It's just a tent. It's not even living". "I don't care. Could I sleep in your tent tonight?". "There's no more room in here. There's no way you can fit". "Then I'm staying out here!". "Suit yourself. By the way, rain will be passing by". Drayko zips up the tent and dark clouds began to move into the area. Cold dusk air blows onto Violet and it started to rain. The girl shivers and stares at Dahlia's tent. "Just this once", Violet thought to herself and slowly walks to the tent, unzipping it and crawling in. Dahlia notices Violet. "Decided to sleep in here, hm? That's fine by me. Take that Flabebe sleeping bag. Goodnight".

=Later that night...=

Everyone is asleep except Violet. The storm is raging outside the tent. Violet is staring up at the tent's "ceiling", shivering slightly from fear and the cold. Although the sleeping bag is not living, well, at all, it still reminds the girl of her tragic past. Violet began sobbing lightly, trying her best not to wake up Dahlia. Soon after, the girl cries herself to sleep...

=the following morning=

A bright ray of sunlight peeks inside the tent. The storm subsided and the 2 girls wake up. "Hey sleepy head. How was your sleep?", Dahlia asked Violet. "Horrible. Just horrible". "That's not very nice to hear. We should get ready for today's travels". The 2 girls get ready and step outside the tent. Drayko is seen going through his bag with Jake no where to be seen.

"Where's Jake?", Dahlia asked. "He went into the nearby forests to look for berries. He should be back soon". Soon after, Jake comes back with 4 apples. The gang eats the apples, folds up their tents, and continued their walk along the route. Huge skyscrapers are seen in the distance. The 4 walk further and lamps are on the sides of the route. Then, there is a gate with the sign "Welcome to Electrica City!".
