29: Drayko vs...Mrs. Mime?

"Mrs. Mime: the mime Pokémon, and the evolved form of a female Mime Jr. A psychic and fairy type. Mrs. Mime distracts its foes by seductively moving its hands in hypnotic motions. When the foe is off guard, it is quickly imprisoned by the walls Mrs. Mime created by fusing air particles together".

"That's a Pokémon I haven't seen yet. I wonder where her trainer is", Drayko thought to himself. He walked closer to the Pokémon and waved. "Hey, where's your trainer?".

Mrs. Mime tried communicating by doing sign language. Drayko looked at her in both confusion and amusement.

"Haha, sorry, I don't really understand sign language".

A voice is heard inside Drayko's head. Drayko didn't know who, and didn't know where it came from.

"I am in charge of the gym for now, Drayko. Don't be afraid. This is telepath. If you seek a gym badge, battle me, defeat me, and you will earn your reward".

"I'm sorry, I'm not really used to this stuff. Sure, we can battle. Do you accept my challenge?". Mrs. Mime nods.

Mrs. Mime is on the battlefield while Drayko is in his position. Drayko looks at the observation areas, and sees no sign of his companions. This time, Drayko is on his own. No motivation. No cheering.

"I will use mostly fairy type moves. Choose your Pokémon wisely".

"Hayprick, I choose you!". Drayko sends out Hayprick.

Mrs. Mime smiles. "Excellent choice. You make the first move".

"Hayprick, use gyro ball!". Hayprick spins, creating a shinning ring. It rams itself right into Mrs. Mime.

Mrs. Mime starts to generate a sparkling pink ball between 2 hands. Mrs. Mime hurls it at Hayprick. "Fairy pulse!".

"Fairy pulse?!", Drayko said in surprise, not hearing that type of move before. Hayprick takes the damage.

"Use vine whip and wrap Mrs. Mime up!".

Hayprick's vines extend and wrap around the mime Pokémon tightly.

Mrs. Mime's eyes glow cyan in color. Hayprick is surrounded by an aura of the same color. "Confusion!". While Mrs. Mime is restrained by the vines, Hayprick begins to float up and right away it gets slammed into a wall, causing the haystack Pokémon to loosen the grip.

"Get up, Hayprick, and use pin missile!". Sharp pins are hurled at Mrs. Mime, but she catches them with confusion and the pins are stationed in the air. Then, Mrs. Mime starts moving her hands gracefully and slowly. Hayprick fixates at the opponent Pokémon curiously.

"What are you doing? Snap out of it!".

"Barrier!". Mrs. Mime swoops in and rushes her hands in a mime-like way, creating walls resembling glass. Before Hayprick could react, it found itself in a room, unable to get out.

Mrs. Mime uses fairy pulse; that goes through the barrier, hitting Hayprick. Soon after, the barriers fade away.

"Quick, use pin missile!". Once again, the pins are hurled at Mrs. Mime, hitting her in the back, stomach, and a leg, causing her to faint.

"Wow, that was so easy. We did it Hayprick, we did it!". The haystack Pokémon jumped up and down in joy.

The door on Mrs. Mime's side creaks open. A small Mime Jr peeks it's head out to examine. It notices Mrs. Mime fainted, and it scurries over to her to see if she's ok. Drayko scans Mime Jr with the Pokédex.

"Mime Jr: the mime Pokémon. A psychic and fairy type. It enjoys mimicking others to learn their emotions. When attacked, it precisely mimics the foe to confuse it, and it quickly runs away".

Mime Jr looks up at Drayko, aggravated. It's eyes glow cyan, and Drayko gets lifted up by confusion.

"MIME JR, STOP!!!".

Mime Jr and Drayko turn around and see Dahlia running to the battlefield. Mime Jr listens to Dahlia, and Drayko floats down.

"What are you doing here, Dahlia?", Drayko asked.

"Well, I got Violet to practice getting used to Beautimare. I think she's fine. Plus, I got wanted to stop by my gym to see how everything is going. I see you defeated Mrs. Mime".

"Your? Your gym? Are you-"

"Yes, I am the gym leader of Mediokris City".

"Does this mean that I get the badge?"

"Not quite yet. You've completed phase 1 of 2".

"What's phase 2?"

Dahlia takes out a pokeball. "Phase 2 is defeating me. I may be sweet, but Wigglytuff is sweet and strong!".
