Drayko was shocked to see his mother suddenly crying. Like a caring son, Drayko asked mom what was the matter. "I've looked through that region book of yours, Drayko! Lethuda? Sinisorb? SAIKIL?! YOU'RE IN A DEATHTRAP! I can't believe I let my only son go to a region where the Pokémon can kill you in seconds! Find the nearest boat to Hoenn. You're coming home immediately", Mom said.
"Mother, I don't want to come back. I love it in Coex. I feel like it's a great place for myself. Plus, I've made 2 new friends. This is Violet, and here is Jake", Drayko told his mother as Violet and Jake waves at Drayko's mom. "Get away from that thing! That Pokémon beside you looks dangerous!", mom said, referring to Jake.
He facepalms. "Non-Coexan...", Jake mumbles. Drayko looked at him and then back at the holophone's screen. "Um...Jake's a Draconian. They are sentient beings that live alongside humans", Drayko said. "Just like a Pokémon", mom said. Jake pushes Drayko and Violet aside and puts his face at the screen, glaring at Drayko's mother. "I AM NOT A POKÉMON", Jake yells and snarls, showing his sharp teeth. Drayko's mother gets surprise and falls back from her chair and gets back unharmed.
"I am terribly sorry, mom! He means no harm. He's even quite sweet once you get to know him!", Drayko said, trying to convince his mother to let him stay. "I don't care. You're coming home this instant", mom said as she's very close to hanging up. As her finger is a mere inch away from the "end call" button, Drayko got her attention.
"Mother, remember that promise I made back at the docks?", Drayko said as his mother put her hand down. "Go on", mom said. "I promised that I would stay safe for you. I have no injuries what so ever. I kept my promise...for you, mom. My Pokémon kept me safe as well. My partner is Orqua, and he's currently resting here at the Pokémon center", Drayko said, smiling. His mother began to smile as well.
"I trust you, baby boy. You kept your promise, and I'm proud of you for that. Always stick to it, and I love you. You may stay, Drayko", mom said to his son. "Violet, take care of Drayko for me. I can tell you're a strong girl", mom said to Violet. "I will, ma'am. You can count on me", Violet said, smiling. "And Drayko, take good care of Orqua and that other Pokémon beside you", mom said, referrring to Jake yet again. He growls and walks away angrily.
"Good luck to you 3, and stay safe throughout your journey!", mom said and finally ends the call. "Your mom strangely reminds me of my dad. Very protective of their children and caring", Jake said.
=50 minutes later=
A grass type looking Pokémon comes out clinging onto the wall and climbing it with ease into the lobby. It's holding a tray with 2 pokeballs. The nurse comes out soon after.
"Your Pokémon are up to full health. We wish you the best of luck out there!", the nurse said to Drayko and Jake. Drayko looked at the strange grass type Pokémon. It resembled a large leaf with smooth green ivy-like objects acting as multiple limbs. On the ends of a few ivies have purple-white flowers. The smiling face had 2 eyes that matched the color of its flowers and a cute mouth that grins.
Jake and Violet notices the Pokémon and runs to the other side of the lobby, far away from it. "The enemy...", Jake said in fear. "Don't hurt me...please", Violet said and shudders, trying not to cry.
"Who's that Pokémon?", Drayko asked. "This is Divivy. They act as a nurse's assistant in Pokémon centers throughout Coex. Drayko scanned Divivy with the Pokédex.
"Divivy: the ivy Pokémon and one of the possible evolved forms of Seedine. A grass and fairy type. Divivy clings onto anything sturdy with its vine-like limbs and hang there awaiting their prey. It releases a sweet scent from its flowers to attract small insects and the occasional bug type Pokémon . Divivy does not prey on humans, but in dire situations, it wraps its vines around the victim and burrows one of its vines inside them and drains the victim's energy. Although semi-rare in the wild, Divivy are usually found deep within jungles and hanging on trees".
"This Divivy is trained to help fellow Pokémon. Its flowers have special healing affects as well!", the nurse said. "Well, look at the time. Um...we should just go to sleep and get as far away from that...thing as possible. We can discuss our strategy to beat Ronald in the morning", Jake said eagerly, trying to get away from Divivy as soon as possible.
"Wait, you want to beat Ronald?", the nurse asked. "Yes. I've challenged him today, and I was defeated", Drayko said. "I suggest finding a flying type Pokémon and leveling up your Orqua. It's currently at level 9", the nurse said. "Good to know. Thank you, and goodnight", Drayko said and goes upstairs to the trainer quarters. Violet and Jake stumble quickly upstairs in fear of Divivy.
=3 hours later=
Jake and Violet are already fast asleep. Drayko looked out his window with Orqua, staring at the starry sky. "I have faith in you. I want you to do the best that you can do. There's a big big world out there waiting for us to explore, and we'll explore it together. All of us", Drayko said while holding Orqua. It squeaks gently and cuddles at Drayko's side.
"But we'll start tomorrow", Drayko said, yawning and then chuckling. He collapses onto the bed and falls asleep with Orqua at his side.
