6: Attack of the Venegras

Drayko and Jake are walking on route 1. The route is surrounded by thick forests and the canopy is a great source of shade. "It says here that we're in the Densissima Forest region. Simex City is only 1 mile away", Drayko said as he was looking on his Pokédex. Suddenly, a Cutiefly flys past Jake, and he backs away into a tree and shudders in fear.

"Th-The enemy inhabits this forest!", Jake said in fear. "The enemy?! What are you talking about?", Drayko said nervously, thinking that a dangerous Pokémon lurks somewhere in the forest. "Fairy types are considered the enemy to our people. They have no affect on dragon type attacks and they can easily prey on us. They may look cute, but I can tell that they are evil! You humans just don't see it!".

The Cutiefly lands on Jake's head innocently. This causes Jake to scream and run around. He bumps into someone and the 2 fall down and the fairy Pokémon finally flies away. The person that Jake bumped into was a girl.

"Hey, watch it! What is wrong with you, dummy!", the girl said very angry. She had dark purple hair and blue-grey eyes. She is wearing a black leather jacket with a white shirt underneath. She has a black skirt that goes under the knees and her leggings are striped with black and white. Her shoes are also black.

"I-I um...was just running away from-", Jake gets cut off by the girl slapping him across the face and makes his snout bounce slightly. The girl sees Drayko looking at their argument. "What are you looking at? Beat it!", the girl said angrily. The same Cutiefly lands on top of the girl's head and she freaks out the same way as Jake did. "Oh my god! P-Please don't hurt me! Please I beg of you!", the girl said as she flicked the Pokémon off her, crying.

The girl then runs away, still crying. Drayko and Jake run after her to see if she's okay. "Wait up! Are you okay?", Drayko yelled, but the girl was too far away to hear. There is a sudden scream coming from the direction the girl went. Drayko and Jake managed to catch up with the girl, now frozen in shock. Drayko and Jake then sees what she's looking at, at it is horrifying.

There are 15 Pokémon that resemble black widow spiders. They are about a foot tall in height and they are a deep black with a skull shaped marking on its abdomen colored a blood red.

"V-Venegras...", Jake whispered in fear. Drayko scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex.

"Venegra: the black widow Pokémon. A bug and poison type. This Pokémon has venom that is corrosive. It injects its prey full with its venom and the victim burns from the inside out. It's bite alone is excruciating".

"We gotta fight them back!", Drayko said boldly. "There's too many of them. We can take them all!", the girl said. Suddenly, the Venegra charge at the girl. Drayko goes in front of her. "No!!!", screamed Drayko as he tried to protect the girl.

"Ulifly, use confusion!", a male voice said somewhere. The Venegras are stopped in its tracks as a man comes out with a butterfly-like Pokémon with its eyes glowing cyan. Meaning it's using a psychic attack.

The man has brown hair and very colorful attire. He has a purple jacket with a light blue shirt underneath. The man has green pants and each glove is a different color. One is blue while the other is orange. One of the man's shoes is red while the other is pink. The man's Pokémon resembles a butterfly with sparkling blue wings and it's body is black. The eyes still glow from its confusion attack.

The Venegras are flung into a tree and they are stunned. "They won't be down forever. We need to leave! You kids follow me to Simex City", the man told the girl, Drayko, and Jake. Drayko grabbed the girl's hand and everyone begins running away. Meanwhile, the Venegras begin to get back on their feet and slowly scurry their way in the direction of the man, the girl, Drayko, and Jake are running.

=3 minutes later=

The 4 sees a clearance. They arrive in a big area free of trees and full of buildings. The buildings have a modern rustic style. The 4 run towards a very large building. "Into the gym!", the man commanded. They all go into the gym and they collapse onto the lobby seats, exhausted and out of breath.

"Now, would you kids care to explain what happened on route 1?", the man asked. "We've ran into some Venegras. They tried attacking me, and that guy over there tried protecting me", the girl said and points to Drayko. "That was a brace thing, kid. What's your name?", asked the man. "My name is Drayko. My partner is Orqua. I came to Coex not to long ago", Drayko said.

"My name is Ronald. Welcome to the Simex City gym. I run the place", the man finally revealed his name.

Suddenly, there were screams coming from outside. The 4 looked out the window and the city is crawling with those 15 Venegras, terrorizing the people outside. Then, there was something similar to a Venegra, except this one was slightly different and bigger. Way bigger. It's large fangs dripped green liquid and let out a sinister hiss.

"A Lethuda...what have you kids done...", Ronald said in awe as he looks out the window.
