15: Corruption

The hallways are dim and empty, missing a few lights from the hyper beam shaking up the place. "I really hope you know what you're doing", Jake said to Violet. "I'm trying to find an exit route. HQ is larger than you think. I never explored the whole place, including this section. If I remember correctly, there is an emergency escape around here". "This place gives me the creeps. Stay alert. We never know what'll pop up", Drayko said.

Running can be heard from a intersecting hallway. It sounds like it's getting closer. "Uh oh. Something's approaching...", Jake said. The gang and 2 people run into each other and it turns out to be Ash and Ashley. Ashley pointed a finger at Drayko and the others. "This is all your faults! If you twerps didn't come along, this wouldn't have happened! Now we're trapped and lost!". "This isn't the time to say who's fault it is. We need to get out of here or this whole facility will collapse on us", Drayko said.

"Whatever, kid. Just find a way out of here", Ashley said. Now there are 6 in the group. "The boss is gonna be angry about all this. Repairing the facility will cost a fortune", Ash said. "I'm sure Magnarex has plenty of money. Honestly, he's too greedy to give us a raise", Ashley said. The boy sits down and hugs his knees to his chest, frightened. "I-I'm scared. Wh-What if we don't find a way out?". "Yeah, what if we don't?", Ash asked. Ashely slaps him across the face. "Wow, you're so charming", Ashley said sarcastically.

Drayko goes on his knees near the boy. "Don't worry. We'll find a way out of here. I promise". The boy smiles and shakes while getting up, having trust in Drayko's words.

"I believe the emergency escape is this way", Violet said, pointing to a direction. Something is heard in a lab room scurrying. Jake takes notice and looks through the window, and there is complete silence. A round looking object is seen facing a corner of the lab. It appears to be a Jigglypuff, but this one is very different. Instead of pink fur, it has dark grey fur and is shaking.

"Is that...a Jigglypuff?", Drayko asked. "It's not one I've seen before", Jake said. He walks into the lab and approaches the Jigglypuff and puts his hand out to touch it. Violet runs after Jake. "Jake, no! That's a corrupted-". The Jigglypuff turns around and it's face is horrific. It's eyes are a blood red and fangs stick out its mouth. The Jigglypuff lunges at Jake, clinging onto his face. "AHHH!!! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!!", Jake screamed as the corrupt Jigglypuff began clawing at its face. Violet grabs the Pokémon and holds it close to her.

"It's okay, baby. He's not gonna hurt you...", Violet said, caressing Jigglypuff. It bites Violet's hand, causing her to drop Jigglypuff. It leaps into an open ventilation shaft where it is heard bouncing farther away from the group. Jake is on the floor, traumatized. "It's your fault. You scared it!", Violet scolded Jake. The draconian snarls and stands up. "Let's get out before we encounter any more psychotic Jigglypuffs".

After walking deeper through the damaged facility, the group finds a map on the wall. "How convenient! This should help us find a way out", Violet said as she looked at the map. "More convenience! All we need to do is go down this hall, take a right, go up these stairs, then take a left, and we'll be out of here!". "What are we standing here for? Let's get out!", Ashley said. The group runs in the directions provided by the map. At the end of the hallway, there is a steel door and on top, it said in lighted red letters "Emergency escape hatch". The group runs towards the door before hearing a gun click.

"Just where do you think you kids are going? Also, why are you 2 grunts with them?", Mr. Magnarex said, holding a loaded revolver. "We want out!", Drayko said. "You've seen too much, kid. You all did. Any last words before I fire my gun?". Ash and Ashley whisper something to each other, and Ash nods in agreement. "You twerps owe us big time", Ash whispered to Drayko, Jake, and Violet. Ash and Ashley walked up to Mr. Magnarex. "Sir, I believe the gun is not locked in properly", Ashley said. "What are you talking about? I've trained with guns for over 15 years, and I know how I'm supposed to prepare them! Now get out of the way or you'll join them". "Screw it", Ash said, before knocking the gun out of the boss' hand. "Get out of here, twerps!", Ashley said. Drayko pulls the door open, but struggles due to the intense weight. Jake and Violet assist Drayko and pulls the door open more. Drayko sends out Orqua. "Come help us!", Drayko said to Orqua. It comes to pull open the door, but is struggles.

"Come on! You can do it, Orqua!", Drayko encouraged Orqua. Suddenly, Orqua let out a loud cry and began to glow brightly. Everyone looked at it amazed. Orqua is engulfed in the white glow and begins morphing, getting larger and it's cry deepens. "It's evolving...", Drayko said in amazement. The glowing subsides, and the new form stands proud. This Pokémon is now larger with a bigger fin on its back and has 2 thick toes on each foot. A small spike protrudes out of each arm. "Who's that Pokémon?", Drayko said and scans it.

"Whalruph: the bash Pokémon, and the evolved form of Orqua. A water and fighting type. Although it kept its playful ways, it can cause more damage. This Pokémon is often loyal to its trainer and often picks fights with Makuhita due to its rivalry in size".

Whaleruph rushes to the door and pulls it, the door opening more. Drayko, Jake, and Violet join Whaleruph and opens it more. Boss Magnarex sends out his Tyranitar and orders it to use hyper beam. As the beam charges, the group climbs the latter quickly. They eventually reach a back of a dark alleyway and they run as fast as they can before Tyranitar fires the hyper beam, causing some rock and steel to collapse and block the way of the group and Team Dusk. The ground shakes lightly and finally stops. The group collapses onto the grass, relieved. "W-We're okay...", Jake said.

A woman is running to the group. "Are you kids ok?", the woman asked. She looked a lot like Violet. Only difference is that her purple hair is shorter than Violet's and she's wearing a black dress.

"H-Hello, mother...", Violet said to the woman.

=Meanwhile, down in  Team Dusk HQ=

Ash and Ashley slowly walk away while the boss is studying the rubble. "Not so fast, idiots. You were involved in this, and you will be involved in cleaning up the mess!", Mr. Magnarex said. "O-oh...yes sir. What do you need?", Ashley asked. The boss turns around and glares. "Bring those kids to me. They will pay for what they've done to HQ!".
