18: Draconians in distress

As Drayko, Jake, and Violet walked through Route 3, there were less of the dead trees, and there is more rough terrain with a few patches of grass in the area. Jagged rocks are appearing more as the gang walks further . "We're in the Acutis Mountains Region", Drayko said as he looked at his Pokédex.

Drayko pointed at the tall jagged mountains in the distance. "Wow, those mountains look amazing!", Drayko exclaimed. "My hometown lies in between those mountains. We are surrounded by them, and it's considered a sanctuary from hostiles including...the enemy", Jake said and shudders when he mentioned the enemy. "Drako Village, huh? Sounds a lot like my name".

"See that very tall mountain over there? That's the pride and joy of Acutis. That is Mt. Cornu. My father tends to fly to its peak to train". Jake pointed at the tallest most pointy mountain that stood out the most. The sun was in the sky at the perfect time. It looked like it is balanced right on the top of Mt. Cornu.

A figure was seen walking in the opposite direction where the gang was heading. It was a draconian, but this one looked different than Jake and his father. This draconian had green scaly skin and amber eyes. Horns protruded out the eyebrows and head. "Yeh Ereht! Uoy gnidaeh ot Okard Egalliv?", the male draconian asked Jake. "Sey I ma! Ym sdneirf dna em era gnilevart hguorht". " Hctaw tuo rof ruoy snoinapmoc. Eht elpoep era yltnerruc cibohponex sdrawot snamuh yletal", the draconian said before leaving.

Drayko and Violet look at Jake in confusion. "So, what did he say?", asked Violet. "He was wondering if we were going by Drako Village and gave me a heads up about the people being xenophobic towards humans lately. Just stay by me and everything will be okay".

=30 minutes later=

The gang arrives at Drako Village. It was a rustic looking village that had a mix of old and new buildings. Some of the old buildings look at least 100 years old or more. Many draconians populated the village with few humans, and dragon type Pokémon roamed the streets freely. The draconians were very diverse when it came to scale color and other features such as eyes, horns, and hair (if they have any). The people of the village looked at Drayko and Violet very strangely, including Jake considering the fact he was actually traveling with humans.

"How about we head to my dad's gym? Maybe him and Drayko could battle", Jake said, nervously.

=7 minutes later=

The gang arrives at the gym. It's a modern rustic concrete building with jagged rocks around it for decoration. There is a sign on the front door.

"At Mt. Cornu for training. Will be back at 5:30pm.

-Tristan: leader of the Drako Village gym", the sign read.

Drayko looked at the time on his Pokédex and it read "5:20pm". "Tristan should be here very soon. We could wait 10 minutes, right?".

=20 minutes later=

The gang are still at the gym. Violet is leaning against the wall, Drayko is sitting on the ground, looking through his Pokédex, and Jake is just sleeping on the floor. "Maybe he didn't mean exactly at 5:30. So what if he's 10 minutes late?", Violet said, nervously.

=another 20 minutes later=

Jake wakes up from his nap and looks around. "He's still not here yet? He was supposed to come back a half hour ago", Jake said. "I'm starting to worry about Tristan. I really hope he's okay...or at least alive", Violet said, looking at Mt. Cornu.
