35: Drayko vs Collin

As seen from the outside, the gym looked so run down. Old broken planks stuck out the walls, the windows were dark and filthy, but strangely enough, the doors looked new and clean. The gang heads into the gym, and they are surprised by the major difference of the interior. The whole place looked very up to date. There was some gym equipment. It included some punching bags, weights, bench presses, and other machines that help build muscle. Large mirrors were on every wall, possibly for trainers and Pokémon to admire themselves with. There is even a big boxing ring in the middle with one man in the middle.

This man had grey sweat pants, a grey tank top, and a red sweatband. At first, Dray didn't recognize him, but a closer glance at his shaved face Dray realized it was Collin.

"Hey Dray! Glad you could make it! Welcome to the Pugnatum gym!"

"Nice gym. It was much better than I expected!" Said Dray.

Collin just chuckled and sent out his 3 Pokémon he used to break up a fight earlier.

"This gym works a bit different than the others here in Coex. We have something called a triple battle!"

Drayko crawls under one of the rubber ropes of the ring so he could enter. He stands on his end of the ring and sends out Whalruph, Hayprick, and Parasweet. Meanwhile, Jake, Dahlia, and Violet sit in the benches.

"Come on Dray, you've got this!" Jake said.

Dray looked back and smiles. A referee comes on the ring wearing black pants, a long sleeved white shirt, and a black bow tie. He was similar to a boxing referee.

"Alright guys, I want a clean fight. If all 3 of your Pokémon faint, it's game over. Without further ado, fight!" The referee rings a bell.

"Whalruph, use tackle on Hitmontop, Parasweet, use fairy wind, and Hayprick, use pin missile!"

Hitmontop easily dodges the attack with great agility. Hitmonlee kicks the pin missiles with its strong legs quickly, making it shoot in different directions.

"What the..."

"Triple battles have more of a strategy, Dray. You can combine your Pokémon's attacks if you need to!" Collin said. "Hitmonchan, use thunder punch on Parasweet!"

Hitmonchan's electricity-powered fist collided with Parasweet, sending it flying to the ground. It miraculously survived the blow and flew back up.

"Strategy, strategy. What can I even do?"

"If you won't do anything, then I will. Hitmonlee, use low kick on Whalruph!"

"Dodge it!"

As the 2 fight, Violet still seems bummed by Jake drinking her iced tea earlier.

"You owe me an iced tea, Jake." Violet said shoving the Draconian beside her.

"If I give you $1.50, would you just leave me be?" Jake hands the money to Violet. She spots a vending machine to purchase the drink.

After several failed attempts, Drayko's Whalruph faints. The referee slams his hand on the mat 3 times, one every second.

"One, two, three, Whalruph is out of here!" The referee shouted.

"Whalruph, return. What did I do wrong."

Collin crosses his arms disappointingly. "Think, Dray. Think. Use your head! I expected someone that made it this far to have strategy!"

Dahlia stood up from her seat. "Drayko, remember what I gave you back in Mediokris City?" She shouted.

"The fairy orb.. of course." Dray said to himself. A faint pink glow came from his pocket. He picks up the little pink orb and holds it up high, showing his opponent what power he rediscovered.

Collin gasps at the object in Drayko's hand. "A PokéOrb?! Where did you find that thing?"

"It's from a friend." Drayko said and looks back at Dahlia with a smirk. "From one of my best friends."

Drayko took the orb and threw it at Parasweet. The orb explodes into a blinding pink light and surrounds the bird Pokémon with a bright pink aura. Parasweet lets out a powerful screech and waits for its trainer's command.

"Parasweet, use fairy wind!"

The Pokémon's wings flapped faster and more forceful than before, stirring up a bright pink twister gleaming with sparkling dusts.

Before Parasweet could unleash it's attack, Drayko gave a command to Hayprick.

"Combine your pin missile with the fairy wind!"

The pins inside of the pink twister bounce around like an intense game of pinball. Parasweet unleashes the attack on the Hitmon Brothers, all 3 of them get picked up by the twister and the pins shoot all over them.

Meanwhile, as Violet grabs her can of ice tea, one of the pins flings out of the twister and flies right inside the can, pinning it against the wall. The tea pours out of the can to Violet's demise.

"WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME DRAYKO?" Violet said on her knees as her precious drink is gone.

The fairy wind fades away. The 3 fighting brothers lay on the mat fainted.

"One, two, three, you're all out!" The referee says and holds Dray's arm up. "Drayko is the winner!"

Everyone except Violet claps, still traumatized by her drink's death.

"Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, return. You're still tough as nails to me." Collin walks to Drayko and pulls out a round badge that resembles the yin and yang symbol.

"You did an excellent combo move there, not to mention the PokéOrb you used. As leader of the Pugnatum gym, I hear by give you the Sensei Badge."

Drayko takes it and holds it up to the light proudly. "It's been great battling you Collin. What city should I go to for my 7th Badge?"

"Try Ignis City. Be careful with the volcanic activity in the area."

Drayko nods and walks out of the gym with the others. Violet holds the tea can in her hand.

"Cheer up. We'll get you another one at the Pokémon center."

=hours go by=

The gang sits at the center's dinner table waiting to be served. The waitress comes by.

"I'm glad you chose to stay at Pugnatum Town's Pokémon center! Would you guys care for any drinks?"

Violet realizes this is her chance to get an iced tea. "I want an iced-

"Iced tea please!" Jake said before Violet finished.

"Of course! You just got the last one. Lucky you!"

Violet is triggered
