Chapter 26.

~Mila~

‘Alpha and luna Woods, the Darklight beta would like to speak with you.’ The omega Dawn said after she had knocked on the door and had been given clearance to enter.

Asher nodded and looked at me. ‘Are you ready to speak with him?’

I looked at Dawn and said with a smile. ‘Thank you Dawn, you can tell him he can join us here.’

She bowed and left the room, I turned towards Asher. ‘We really need to talk about using the omega’s as servants after this whole mess is fixed.’

Ashers brows shot up in surprise. ‘What do you mean? The omega’s always feel most comfortable in positions where they are able to serve the luna and Alpha.’

I shook my hand. ‘That may be but the amount of obedience they display and how some of the other pack wolves treat or look down on them is sickening.’

He nodded. ‘If you want to talk about that later I’m all for it.’ He grinned and looked at me. ‘I never saw it as a problem because Dawn, Bridget and Lyle do come to me when there is something not right or when they have been treated wrongfully. They are not afraid of me.’

The door opened an in walked Callum Smith. He was flanked by two warriors. ‘Stay by the door.’ He ordered them and they closed the door behind him.

‘Alpha’s.’ He acknowledged us both but he only had eyes for me.

He walked up to us and stood by the chairs we were occupying. ‘Please sit down mister Smith.’ I said and he smiled up at me.

‘If you want you can just call me Callum. Alpha Mila.’ He sat down and looked at me intently, scrutinizing me until he seems to have taken in every detail of my face and posture.

‘Alright Callum. You have asked to see us, what is it you wish to share?’ I asked him, cutting right to the chase.

He looked back at my eyes and said. ‘I need to speak with you two alone because there are terrible things happening and we need our Alpha to take over her rightful place before a war starts, again.’ His tone of voice made me not growl at him because he wasn’t demanding, he was pleading.

‘Again?’ I looked at Asher questioningly and he just glanced at Callum. ‘Explain her what happened eighteen years ago, she needs to know what happened to her parents. That is information only you can give her.’ He said and Callum nodded.

‘What do you know of your parents?’ He asked me.

I gave him a sad smile. ‘I was one when my mother met James, my stepfather. My mother was a social worker until the day she died. She was a guardian to several foster children in the area. I know that she came from the Greers pack and was placed with the Grey Paw pack to be the mate of a beta named Moore. My brother Aaron was born out of that marriage and afterwards she got to know my father, her real mate. They had me.’

Callum smiled. ‘Yes, but all your father knew was that he and his mate were three months pregnant at the time of his death. I knew that he had found his mate, he had told me but he had never given me her name so I didn’t know who to look for when he passed away. We suspect that after his death your mother ran, we do not know where because we have searched all over the states to find the true mate of my passed away Alpha.’

‘Wait.’ I interfered. Some simple adding up dates made me realize there was a time gap. ‘You don’t know what happened in that year and a half? She simply vanished?’
