Chapter 9. Scared dominated wolves are a dangerous waste.

Calia has been on my case the entire ride to New York. She was seriously pissed that we didn’t get a chance to run or to go mate with her wolf counterpart. And she’s been ranting about it ever since we left. Non stop!

‘If we don’t get mated to him soon I’m seriously going to lose control.’ She threatened.

‘Wow.’ I thought dryly. ‘And I thought I was the younger and less mature one here, I guess I was wrong. If you keep acting like a five year old with a temper tantrum I will keep talking to you as such.’

She was beyond angry and I could feel her seething. ‘Yeah, now it kind of sucks I have self control right?’ I said with a grim look on my face. I realized I didn’t want her to be upset with me but I won’t budge, she was acting practically archaic.

She sighed. ‘I’m sorry, I know you are scared and freaked out by the whole wolf mate thing. And you are young but you have to realize that in dog years you are practically ancient.’ 

I laughed. ‘Trying it from another angle huh? Still not working. He will come for us soon enough.’

‘You are going to get him killed like this. Making him come into another territory is not wise for an alpha.’ She stated angrily.

‘Of course I won’t. You are just too much drama. I thought old wolves were wise counselors, not emotional wrecks.’

Aaron looked at me. ‘Is Calia still pissed?’

‘Yeah, she’s trying to make me feel bad. Saying that I’m going to get him killed.’ I said and Kate looked at me.

‘Being claimed really isn’t that bad you know, Carmine was very gentle and I still get to go to college.’ Her face saddened. ‘Maybe I’ll transfer to be closer to him, driving or flying to New York every weekend is probably a bit too much for him as well as for me.’

Aaron grinned. ‘See, newly claimed and already turning into mush.’

I mind linked Aaron. ‘Kate is not like me, she always wanted to have someone special in her life. So don’t say that stuff to her.’

‘Yes Luna Mila.’ He mocked me and I almost snarled because he was disrespecting me but was able to contain myself. What the hell is wrong with me? Calia only snorted in the back of my mind, she obviously knew but was in no way cooperative. I couldn’t blame her though.

 Kate pushed Aaron. ‘Am not, but I’m not so hung up on New York as Mila is. Besides, they have great college programs in Washington.’

‘You are forgetting one major thing.’ Aaron smiled and winked at me. He put on a girly voice and whined. ‘And I loooove him!’

‘Aaron.’ I snarled and immediately he stopped. Kate looked at me as well. ‘Stop teasing Kate and focus on the road.’

We were almost there when Kate’s phone rang. She picked up and I could hear it was Carmine.

‘Stop the truck.’ She yelled distressed and Aaron did as asked.

It was silent on the other end for a moment and Kate held on to the phone as if it was a life line.

‘Okay, we will do just that. I love you too.’ She smiled the most tender smile I had even seen on her face, she was completely infatuated with her mate. I couldn’t help but smile at that. I was happy for her, she deserved someone to love her unconditionally.

‘That could be you you know.’ Calia tried again and I sighed. ‘Will you stop it already, it will happen but not when you want it to. I have a will too you know.’ I scolded her in the same tone.
