Chapter 19. Teasing will get you exactly where you want to be.

Once back in the alpha house Quinn walked me up to Ashers office. ‘I’ll see you later Mila.’ She smiled at me and I smiled back. ‘Sure, practice tomorrow?’

Quinn nodded. ‘Yeah, I was thinking we are going to work on fighting like wolves, is that something you have experience with?’

Calia snorted confidently in my mind but I ignored her and said. ‘I never fought like that.’

‘Then you are in for a treat, I’ll come get you tomorrow morning.’ She turned around and walked out.

I knocked on the office door but there was no reply. When I tried to open the door it was locked. Guess Asher doesn’t want just anyone in the office when he’s not in attendance. Smart.

I walked to the kitchen and saw everyone sitting at the dinner table in the adjoining room.

Melany waved at me. ‘I saved you a seat Mila.’

I walked up to her and saw that I was placed between her and Asher. That was just fine by me.

He smiled at me. ‘I hear you made quite an impression at the training area.’

‘Jeez, word travels fast around here.’

He tapped his head. ‘Mind link, Liam was training in the pit when he saw Quinn actually found her match. He was baffled it turned out to be you.’  

‘And what do you think?’

He smiled again and said. ‘I’m actually really happy to hear that I have a mate who can protect herself.’

Dinner was brought in and I couldn’t help but stare at Asher. He was just so handsome.

Asher stiffened when he picked up on my hormones and turned to me with pitch black eyes, so dark with lust I couldn’t even see his pupils. But when he spoke he seemed in control. ‘This is really not the place my love.’ He mind linked me.  

I cussed in my head, how does this turning on stuff work with werewolves. It was like a fever, one moment you are cold and it’s alright to interact and the next hot fever takes over and clouds my  judgment.

‘Will it go away?’ I mind linked him.

‘When we truly become intimate with each other it will first be worse before it becomes less but it will never really go away. I suggest that when we mate we lock ourselves in our bedroom for at least a week.’  He said casually but I was not fooled, he seemed to really like that idea, to be completely honest I liked that idea too.

‘Not helping right now Asher.’ I groaned and tried to focus on my food, I was really starving because of the grueling work out but the only bones I truly wanted to jump where Ashers.

He grinned and confessed. ‘Sorry love, I’m having trouble with this as well. You consume my every thought.’

‘How come I haven’t seen your father yet? And who are the girls sitting around the table?’ I asked when I took in who were sitting at the table, trying to change the subject.  I saw Melany, Lilly, Liam, Louis, that guy named Ward and a girl who I assume is his mate. On the other end sat Aaron and Eloise and Louis his younger brother Micah with a girl who looked at me with fascination. But not a man who is old enough to be Ashers father.

The table was quiet, everyone was having personal conversations.

‘My father is in Washington, there was a problem with one of our businesses and since I was away he took it upon himself to check it out, he will be back in several days.’
