The music was almost deafening but I had a blast. I had a lot of friends in this town and Joan, Kate and Shannon were around me at all times. Aaron was hovering and continued checking the inside but I didn’t mind. I knew he just wanted us to be safe.

There were about fifty people in the diner and everyone was dancing or talking to each other.

I had already gotten so any great presents from everyone. I was super flattered they all went through so much effort.

What I did mind was that not only my girls gush over Aaron but all my other female friends as well. It was absolutely ridiculous. The other guys on the other hand were giving him the stink eye because none of the girls had an interest in them. They talked to the guys but continued to glance in Aarons direction. I grinned at that and told the guys he would leave after tonight so he wouldn’t bother their game anymore. That seemed to soothe their hurt.

It was nearing nine when there was a commotion in the front. Some girls gasped for air in awe at the intrusion but all I could feel was uncomfortable.

‘Hey Aaron, we thought we would find you here, let’s go bud.’

There were five of them. They were all handsome as hell but I really didn’t like the look in their eyes. They didn’t want to be here, they were ordered.

‘No way man, I’m done. Leave.’ Aaron said in a calm tone.

Kate, Joan and Shannon came to stand by me. ‘Who are those guys Mila, they are hot.’ Shannon stared at the guys. ‘Are they friends with Aaron?’ Joan asked.

Kate smirked. ‘I don’t think they are hot, they look mean and evil. They look menacing. Even animalistic.’

I was taken aback by Kate’s remark but her observation was correct

One of the guys walked up to Aaron. ‘Come on Aaron, you’ll get us in trouble.’ He grabbed Aarons hand and tried to pull him towards the exit.

‘Let go of me Eli.’ Aaron practically growled but I knew he didn’t want to make a scene in the diner and trash the place.

‘He said he doesn’t want to go with you, now leave him be.’ I said without thinking and I couldn’t help myself giving the alpha order.

‘Who was that?’ Another guy asked in a shocked tone and stomped towards the crowd who scooted back to show me and the girls.

The guy names Eli let go of Aaron and Aaron walked towards us. ‘Zeke, leave her alone.’

‘What is she to you Aaron, you got a girlfriend we do not know about?’

Kate smirked. ‘As if.’

Zekes attention turned to her. ‘And what is it to you, sister?’

She growled. ‘I am in no way a sister of yours.’

Again I was taken aback by Kate her behavior. And then it hit me, she had her birthday some weeks ago and she’s been out of it for some time. As her closest friends we all just thought it was pre university jitters because she turned back to normal a week or so after that. But what if it was something else and I was wrong about it?

‘I should have known, she smelled different then I remembered.’ I heard Aarons thoughts confirm my suspicions.

Zeke and some of the other boys came towards us, well they were more interested in Kate than me right now.

‘You need to come with us too.’ One of the guys said to Kate.

Shelly and her band of friends came walking towards us. ‘Who do you think you are, coming in here and demanding all those things, we had a great evening until you guys came along and became a buzz kill.’
