‘You what?’ I asked him in disbelief. To hear the word love coming out of my mates mouth was the most sweet and exhilarating thing to have happened to me in a very long time.
He chuckled and his eyes twinkled with delight and happiness. ‘Did I stutter?’ He asked me teasingly.
‘N..,no.’ I said and looked into his eyes. ‘You barely know me.’ I whispered.
He grinned and shook his head. ‘I know more about you then you know, I know that you scrunch your nose cutely when you are thinking really hard about something and I know that when you think about me you tilt your head a bit and stare into nothingness.’
I laughed at that and protested. ‘I do not.’
He just looked at me with those beautiful twinkling eyes and smirked. ‘I just told you that I love you and all you can do is bicker about it?’
I gasped for air wanting to protest and that was the only thing he needed before taking control of my lips and with that, my thoughts.
When Asher starts kissing me I’m not able to think about anything, I just enjoy the delicious tingling sensations racing through my body and the lingering heat in my core that usually just simmers a bit transforms to the equivalent of a raging forest fire.
I moan in his mouth, not able to keep it in and I feel him smiling against my mouth before he plunges himself into me and lifts me up while still retaining contact with my whole body. Did I mention my mate is one smooth guy?
That night we didn’t think about what happened the rest of the day and simply enjoyed each other.
When we went to sleep I realized that he hadn’t asked me how I felt about him and I had to admit that I was happy for that. Asher was more in contact with his emotions and I knew that he cared deeply for me. I on the other hand wasn’t as vocal about it but I know that he’s aware of my feelings for him.
Just to say the words out loud scared me a bit and I don’t even know why.
The next morning I woke up early and decided to go for a morning run like I usually did back home, just to get a feeling of normality and routine back. I contacted Quinn through the mindlink. ‘Hey Quinn, you up?’
‘Just about.’ I heard her answer sleepily and I grinned because I knew I had woken her. ‘Well, get your lazy ass out of bed and join me for a run.’
She groaned and replied. ‘God woman, it’s barely six o’clock, are you serious?’
‘Yes I am, best way to start the day. Be ready in five minutes.’ I answered while putting my jogging clothes on.
From the bed I heard Asher ask. ‘Where are you going?’
‘For a morning jog.’ I answered him and walked up to the bed. He looked absolutely scrumptious with his sleepy eyes and tousled hair and I had to resist myself from moving in further, because otherwise I wouldn’t be going anywhere.
He looked at the clock. ‘So, you are a morning person then?’
‘Sort of, but I’m starting to enjoy the nights better.’ I teased and he smiled lazily.
‘I wonder why.’ He mused into his pillow, stiffening a yawn. ‘Have fun, is anyone coming with you?’
‘Quinn is coming along.’ I smiled.
I heard him grin. ‘You made Quinn come out of bed before seven? Oh, she’s going to be pissed off.’
I smirked. ‘That’s kinda what I’m hoping. Where can I find her?’
