~Mila~
It was three days after my confrontation with Callum Smith and thus far everything went alright.
Asher and I were a really good team and not we were in his office again. It had been entirely swiped and was now entirely bug free.
We were alone in the office for our daily update on the situation.
'So, what's new?' Asher asked me. His eyes were looking at me smolderingly, reminding me of this morning when he was looking at me the same way only with his hair disheveled and completely naked.
It took me a moment to compose myself. The urge to jump him and have a heated make out session hasn't lessened these past few days, in fact it was only getting worse and Asher had explained to me that is was because I would go into heat in a couple of days.
'Well, the men I had Callum send out to gather information are highly efficient. They claim that there are no traces to be found that point towards the Silver moon or Grey paw pack being responsible for the she wolf kidnappings. Most of the leads actually head south through Tennessee to Georgia.'
'Shadow Claw?' He asked confused. 'We've never had any problems with that pack before, at least not that I know of. Although..,' He became silent.
'What is it Asher, is there something I should know?'
He shook his head. 'It is rumored that the Alpha of that pack isn't as stable as an alpha should be but I thought they were just rumors.'
'You never met the guy?' I asked confused, when Asher told me about alpha gatherings I figured all the alpha's needed to be in attendance.
He shook his head again. 'No, the guy is a ghost. He always sends a representative, his Beta. I could ask my father if he knows anything about the man, he's been around a bit longer than me.' He winked at me. 'I'll mind link him after we are done with the daily update, so he can meet us here.'
I nodded. 'Good idea.'
Asher sat beside me and asked. 'Anything else for today?'
'Yeah, the rogues that arrived are settling in quite nicely but are being closely watched by the pack members.' The rogues in the Darklight area were contacted as we had planned and asked to come to our lands so they would be protected from harm. They were not excluded from pack life but it was obvious people were wary of the newcomers although they didn't really posed a threat. Everyone was more on edge since Melany was attacked and the Darklight warriors had arrived to stay. The dynamics within the pack was a bit different now and all the people needed to regain their balance.
'And that was about it. Have you got any news?'
He sighed and I smiled. 'Oh oh, that can't be good.'
'Quinn is driving me crazy, since she found her mate she is even more determined to show off her skills and teach Callum how to be head enforcer. She's working the enforcers to the bone but they are all very motivated to show the warriors that they are in no way inferior to them so it's not that bad I guess.' Quinn found her mate, it turned out to be Cale Smith and even though they were infatuated with each other as mates she was not an easy going she wolf who let her mate dictate everything for her. Like fighting her battles for her, she was still the head enforcer of Crimson Blood and working with her new father in law proved to be challenging. She had two men dogging her about how dangerous it was for a woman to have that kind of position but she was up for the task and determined to prove them wrong. She ahd already bested her mate once in a fight so she was making great progress.
'Any fights today?' I asked, almost dreading the answer because the fights we had to break up yesterday were so heated that several enforcers and warriors were still in the pack hospital. Since the warriors heard they were staying in Crimson Blood they had tried to settle in but being nomads for years had made them less sociable and they thought their fighting skills earned them higher ranks than the enforcers who had been training diligently for years as well. That made tensions rise high and we had to defuse several fights already these past few days.
