Sang
I held my breath, eyes closed as I waited for the shouting and hate to start, but it never came. I slowly opened my eyes to see that all fourteen pairs of eyes were turned to me with looks of disbelief and shock, but surprisingly no hate, yet. "Trouble what the f*** do you mean this psycho is your 'fiance'!?" Gabe was the first to break the heavy silence, I sighed as I prepared myself for what would follow. "He's actually my technical fiance, being the fact it wasn't by choice, it's a long story." I whispered out, fiddling with my hand as I refused to meet their eyes.
I was stunned when a finger came under my chin and tilted my face up to meet a pair of kind but dark eyes. "We have plenty of time to listen Sang, we won't judge you for your past." Axel always seemed to know what to say, I found myself relaxing into his touch, he pulled away gently as I nodded back slowly. "My story is a long and painful one, but I'll try to break it down to the important bits and pieces for you guys. I understand if you'll hate me afterwards." I sighed sadly, my words were met with curses, most of which were in Russian.
"We will never hate you Aggele mou, and nothing you say can change that." Silas affirmed strictly, I huffed softly his way. "Try to keep that in mind when I'm through with the story." I snorted roughly, better grouchy than a blubbering mess. "Ms. Sorenson..." Owen's look said everything his words didn't, and I took a deep breath to steady myself before I spilled the horrors of my past. "I can't remember a time when I had a happy family, or a time when a blood relative ever showed love to me. My mother died in giving birth to me and my father always blamed me for it, he had really loved her." I sighed, I never got the chance to meet my mom, a small part of myself blamed me for killing her too.
"My dad married my step mom not long after my moms death, and I grew up thinking my step mom was my real mom. I don't know when they found out she was sick but it changed her, made her... different. I think the first time she ever hurt me was when I was 5, I knocked something over by accident and she threw me down the stairs." I chuckled humorlessly as I caught glimpses of the boys clenching their hands into fists, mumbling curses under their breaths, even Owen had a deep frown pointed my way.
"Pookie that could have killed you, they took you to the hospital right?" Sean scolded out with a pout. "I was bruised and probably broke some bones but they had a 'friend' come doctor me up, in all my life I've never gone to a doctor's office or a hospital of any kind." I answered solemnly, he gaped back at me like a fish out of water, not sure what to say about that. "Continue Ms. Sorenson." Owen's soft yet deep command was not to be disobeyed.
"In the beginning there was always an excuse for why I was being punished, I did something she told me not to, I woke her up from a nap, I made noise when she had a headache, I spoke when I was told not to. I eventually got so scared to make a move in my own house in fear of being punished by her, and all before I turned 8." I whispered out shakily, fighting off the pain and tears that wanted to flow from the memories. "That's bull, kids are supposed to have fun not be afraid to even sneeze in their own freaking house!" Marc shouted, I winced at the volume of his words, and I hadn't even gotten to the bad parts yet. Owen and Axel calmed the room as the guys seemed to be growing more restless by the minute, I slowly continued my story.
"I can't really remember the moment things changed but suddenly she didn't need a reason to hurt me anymore, when slaps turned to punches and kicks." I sighed out. "Where was your dad in all of this?!" North growled I could see how hard he was trying to control his temper. "He didn't care what she did to me, he never has cared what happened to me, never cared for me really." I answered, North punched the wall, leaving an indent as Silas spoke to him softly, calming him down enough to sit in a chair.
