I sighed as I pulled my slightly damp hair into a ponytail, inspecting my scarred body in the mirror. I could go about my day generally ignoring the marks my past left behind, but seeing them always brought unwanted memories and thoughts. Why couldn't my life had been normal? What did I do to deserve this pain? How could anyone love someone as hideous as me? The questions whirled in my mind from time to time but I always pushed them away, I was alive because I was strong, a fighter, a survivor, I did not give up.
I chuckled to myself as I ran a finger over one of the scars on my bare stomach, one which I had earned with pride, a reminder that not everything of my past was evil. I knew that breakfast and the boys were probably waiting on me downstairs so I quickly dressed in a comfy pair of yoga pants and a loose grey tank top before heading down to the somewhat noisy kitchen. I walked in to find Luke and North arguing about something to do with sweets, Marc noticing my presence handed me a well made cup of coffee. I thanked him as I took a sip on a sigh and held the mug close, the boy sure made one heck of a cup of coffee.
"Good morning Ms. Sorenson, did you sleep well?" Owen questioned, I knew the caring look in his eyes had a whole different meaning than his words. "Best sleep I had in a long time, so thank you." I murmured back as I took another sip from the heaven in my mug, nodding to North and Silas as they sent a look my way and sending a small smile to Axel who gave a tiny one in return. "I set up a schedule for everyone to have a night with you, in twos of course, if that's alright with you?" Kota fiddled with his glasses nervously, counting lowly under his breath, I sent a soft smile his way as he blushed slightly.
"Thanks Kota, I think it's worth a try, I need the sleep anyways." I said softly as he sent an adorable grin my way in reply. "Cupcake, tell North to stop trying to steal all my chocolate." Luke's whine had my attention turning to him as I sent North a teasingly disapproving look, he grunted back towards me, it was this moment that I noticed the chocolate chip pancakes on the plate they were both fighting over. "Ooooo chocolate chip pancakes, my favorite!" I squealed as I quickly snatched the plate from the two bewildered boys put some syrup over it and tucked in like my life depended on it.
"Okay, that's it we're keeping her forever now!" Luke exclaimed as he gave me a huge grin, I smiled back around a mouthful of chocolatey goodness as North grunted and glared down at my plate. "Oh, quit it North star, I think I deserve a sweet treat now and then, besides I eat healthy things too, and I stay in shape, you don't have to worry so much." I scolded lightly as I waved my pancake covered fork at him, shock then amusement flashed in his eyes as he shook his head at me, turning back to the stove as the other boys in the room chuckled. "How are you even f***ing hungry after last night, where do you put it all away?!" Gabriel huffed as he settled on a stool beside me with his own cup of coffee in hand, I shrugged back to him.
"I don't know, I've always had a pretty strong appetite and when you don't know when or where your next meals coming from it sometimes helps to bulk up." I chuckled lightly before I winced at my slip up of words, taking note of the way the guys tensed around me. "What exactly do you mean by that Peanut?" Nate questioned as he and Brandon entered the kitchen, both deliciously shirtless, and I totally did not want to trace those abs one by one, wouldn't dream of it. "What does she mean by what?" Corey yawned as he and Victor joined the increasing number of concerned faces pointed my way, Sean stepping in a stride behind them as he to sent a curious and caring look my way.
