                                                   Sang

I handed my keys to North before getting into Phil's car to head back to HQ, the guys would have questions to answer and I needed to stay low. Staring at the burning building as we drove away I knew it would be best for me to disappear to the shadows for now, after all that's what a Ghost bird did. I still couldn't believe I had actually won the official title of a Ghost bird, it seemed almost unreal somehow.

"I'll take care of everything here Sang, we can't have anyone finding out about you and this will be big news around here. When the fire dies down an Academy team will go in and identify bodies. The guys will have paperwork at HQ to fill out, you can stay in my office until everything settles down a bit." Phil said as he pulled into to the Academy HQ parking lot. "Thanks Phil." I sighed as I climbed from the passenger seat.

"Don't think that I've forgotten the fact you very well knew you could have died in there and yet still went in anyway young lady." Phil scolded as we passed the scowling desk lady and closed ourselves off in his office. "I know." I whispered as I sunk into a chair. "There are a lot of teams out their Sang but you're the only ghost bird I've got, replaceable and irreplaceable are very different." I sent a glance his way at those words. "I know." I stated as I held his gaze.

"Then care to explain why you stormed into a building alone, without back up, or any for sure extraction plan just to rescue a team of dogs." I couldn't help the chuckle that left my lips as I rested my face in my hands. "Because they're not replaceable, and besides you know how much I love my dogs." I let my words hang in silence as I looked up to gauge his reaction, only to find him frowning slightly back at me.

"Whatever the reason was, it was far too dangerous to..." I quickly cut him off with a raised hand. "Phil that right there has to stop right now, the Academy is dangerous we've both always known that. I chose to do this and I know I will have to face missions like this at some point, you have to accept that I can handle it on my own." I said as we shared a look, he nodded slightly. "That doesn't stop me from wanting to keep my adoptive niece as safe as possible though." he murmured as he wrapped an arm around me in a side hug, I quickly returned the gesture with a sigh.

"Also I left the dogs at Victor's place, you can get all of them later, and don't worry they're all safe and sound." I relaxed slightly as I sighed at his words, glad my pups were okay at least. "I guess it looks like I'm staying here tonight." I sighed as I noticed the time, hard to believe it was already early morning hours and I hadn't eaten dinner either. "I'll get a pillow and some blankets so you can sleep on the couch, the guys will be here answering questions and doing paperwork till morning." Phil said as he left the office in a hurry, I yawned surprised with how tired I felt after everything today.

I fell asleep before Phil even made it back to the room, waking hours later when the early morning sun shone in my eyes. "Here Sang, coffee." I smiled as Marc handed me a steaming mug, sending a glance to all 14 of the guys as I sat up with a yawn. "Hey. Where's Phil run off too?" I greeted before posing my question. "Better off just showing her." Nate muttered as he turned on the TV to a news channel, and there was Phil talking to a reporter as they showed clips of the burning warehouse in the background. "You mind turning that up a bit?" I asked as the volume increased so all of us could hear what was being said clearly.

"So Dr. Robert's what can you tell us about the horrific accident that happened last night?" The reporter urged and I held my breath as I awaited the response. "Well it really was a truly horrible accident, experts tell me that it started by an electronic issue where a small charge went off and the whole building went up in the flames. The warehouse workers were trapped inside and sadly there were no survivors, we send our prayers to all the family's and friends that lost someone in this horrible accident." Phil's face was apologetic and kind, but the 15 of us knew the truth of what happened last night, not including a few choice Academy members and Phil himself.
