                                                                   Sang

"Come on Harper, don't you give up on me like this." Yes I was literally crying over my dying baby bike, tears in my eyes and all. She was a real trooper waited until we rode into my new neighborhood before she started to cough and sputter then she completely broke down in my new driveway. And it was here that I was having a small meltdown over my poor dying Harper.

Apparently in my hurry to get away from the hot and handsome strangers I failed to notice the leaking problem that Harper was having. "Don't you worry baby girl, Mama's going to get you all fixed up and good as new." I promised with a pat to her handle bars. I quickly made note of what I would need to fix her up before letting my dogs out for their run in the woods and heading to my laptop to look for what I would need.

After 30 minutes of checking and rechecking everything, letting my boys back in with their incessant whining and scratching at the door I was utterly perplexed. "Well this is just fudging stupid." I grumbled as I scratched Nuka's ears, he had decided to snuggle up to me on the loveseat while Duke and Billy were happily snoring on the couch. "Out of all the stupid parts to break down the most expensive one decided to go kablooie. That just ain't right." I huffed at the laptop screen, not only was the part expensive it was also apparently in high demand.

The only one available in my price range was at this little mechanic shop about 45 minutes away and from what the news had said apparently there had been a shooting in that area last week. Yay, crazy people shooting guns, so much fun, NOT. The little shop might be the cheapest deal for the part I need but even then it was still going to take about half the cash I had leftover from Phil, I really needed to get a job and soon. So my options were go to this shop sometime this afternoon or let Harper suffer, oh well a girls got to do what a girls got to do.

With a sigh I got up and grabbed the keys to my Jeep, quickly jotting everything I needed down on paper, before grabbing an apple to eat for lunch. I was officially out of food, so it appears I'm stopping at the grocery store after the mechanic shop, at least the dogs still have plenty to eat. "Alright boys, who wants to go for a ride?" I clapped my hands and all three were front and center almost simultaneously, always willing to please. "Let's go then." I smiled as I opened the door and they all ran to my Beauty and whined at the Jeep's side.

I quickly took off the covers leaving the door and windows open to give my boys plenty of room and they all took their usual places, Nuka in the passenger seat and the other two in the backseat. Starting up Beauty I took the quickest route my laptop had provided to get to where I would have to go for the part Harper needed. I felt my senses kick into high alert the moment we crossed the invisible barrier in what many would consider the bad part of town, the boys picked up on my mood and each gave a low growl.

I was glad I brought them with me, I mean who in their right mind would try to car jack a Jeep with three huge mutts sitting inside. As I pulled up to the shop I made note it was nearly deserted, apart from the sound of drilling coming from one of the cars inside. Whoever worked here sure had their hands full fixing up these beautiful pieces of metal, the sight of them made my hands itch to get to work on one or two of them myself, but I was here for Harper right now. Determining it was probably best to leave the boys with Beauty so no one would vandalize her I went inside, following the sound of the drill.
