Owen
I was staying up late to go over our case files, and rechecking possible connections with the mystery guy we had yet to learn the identity of. I sighed as I rubbed my temples in frustration, no matter where we looked there was still no leads to the case, and that wasn't sitting well with me. I was staring down at one of the folders when a distinctly feminine scream pierced the silence, I bolted from my seat automatically. I rushed to my door and threw it open, stepping out in the hallway as another scream sounded, far more desperate and pained this time. I glanced down the hall as the doors of my brothers and the Toma team members swung open, everyone rushing with me towards the owner of the screams.
I was the first to her door, the others crowded behind me, North shoved his way forward and started to pound on the door, but there was no response. "Move." Raven growled once as we stepped back and he forced the door open, his gun in hand as we rushed in behind him. The sight that met us was something I knew I wouldn't forget no matter how hard I tried, Sang slick with sweat as she cried and pleaded in her sleep, thrashing and flailing helplessly. "Mr. B. what do we do?!" Kota looked uncharacteristically panicked, and I knew I wasn't far off.
"Sang, Baby wake up please." North pleaded as he knelt by her side, keeping his hands to himself so as not to make things worse for her. Everyone was calling out to her pleading with her to wake up but her own pleas rang out louder, I felt sick at her words as she begged an invisible being not to do something. Then her thrashing picked up even more and suddenly a blood curdling scream escaped her lips and Sean couldn't take anymore, he knew it was a delicate thing but he also knew he had to wake her up.
I watched as he stepped forward trying to sooth her with words then suddenly her eyes flew open panicked and wild as she flipped my best friend to the ground with a blade at his throat. I held my breath as she scanned the room, realizing where she was and then I saw something that was almost worse than her screams in its own way as a look crossed her face. Sang was shutting down, shutting us out, and it hurt more than anything I could have imagined.
Sean
I knew that waking people from night-terrors could be dangerous but I couldn't handle seeing my poor little Pookie like that anymore. I tried to be as gentle as possible but whatever was haunting her dreams didn't leave as quickly as I would have liked, especially when she had a blade pressing dangerously close to my carotid artery, I stayed still as her tiny form surveyed the scene from her position of straddling me, in another circumstance I might have enjoyed this. "Sean." my name whispered through her lips as she thankfully pulled back her blade and scurried off of me, a pained look in her eyes as I sat up slowly, hoping not to scare her further.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." she chanted out as she brought her knees to her chest and started to rock, a far off look in her eyes, one that held a pain I was unsure how to identify. "Aggele mou it's okay." Silas murmured as he knelt beside her shaking and rocking form, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, Axel murmuring as he too settled in on her other side, rubbing calming circles in her back. She looked at me before standing quickly and rushing forward, I was shocked when she collided with my chest, wrapping her arms around me with a choked out sob.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I didn't mean to do that. I don't want to hurt you. Please don't be mad. I'm so sorry. I can understand if you don't want to forgive me, but I'm so sorry." she choked into my chest as she shook with sobs, she thought I was upset for her defending herself in a time of panic? "Pookie." I sighed softly as I pulled her chin up so those green eye could meet mine, the sadness and suppressed hope nearly killed me. "I'm not mad for you doing what you felt needed to be done to keep you safe, although I didn't love the blade at my throat, I'm glad you are prepared to defend yourself if you must." I said gently as she sniffled back her tears.
