Mackenzie's POV

I woke up laying on a beach towel under an umbrella. My face was wet and my back was all sandy. My braid had come undone with pieces of hair sticking out in every direction.

And that's when I had remembered what had happened; I fell and smacked my head on the sand so hard that I passed out.

As I sat up my head started beating due to the migraine that I had.

When Hayes saw me sit up he rushed over to my side and looked into my eyes.

"You passed out. If you're wondering why your back is sandy it's because you landed on your back along with your head. And your face... I had to splash it with water to get you to wake up but you didn't. So I carried you over here to lay you down until you woke up."

I looked into Hayes's giant blue orbs and smiled. He was amazing.

"Thanks," I slurred. My speech was weird from falling but soon it was back to normal.

"Do you want any company while you lay down? Nash and Vanessa are in the water with each other and I don't wanna leave you if you don't wanna be alone by yourself." Hayes was so adorable.

"Sure, I guess some company would be nice," I smiled and patted the empty spot on the blanket next to me.

After Hayes laid down next to me we started talking for a while. Mostly about our old memories. One memory made me smile...

---FLASHBACK---

Hayes and Mackenzie were 8 years old. They were in their tree house talking and all of a sudden Hayes scooted really close to Mackenzie and whispered something in her ear. "You're so beautiful." He then planted a tiny kiss on her cheek. Mackenzie blushed and they spent the rest of the night staying up in the tree house playing games and laughing. That was the day that Hayes and Mackenzie declared the tree house 'their treehouse where only they were allowed.'

---END OF FLASHBACK---

Hayes POV

The sun was starting to set and a lot of people were already leaving the beach. Nash and Vanessa had come out of the water and sat down the rest of the day.

"Psst Mackenzie wake uppppp!" I whispered in Mackenzie's ear. She slowly opened her eyes and asked "yes?"

"Do you feel any better?" She smiled her beautiful wide smile and answered "yes, why?" I sat up and she did to.

"LET'S GO HAVE SOME FUN!" I told Mackenzie and she shot me a look. "So help me Hayes if you so much as bring me near the water you will be regretting it an I wi-" I cut her off by picking her up bridal style and running off to the water.

"HAYES PUT ME DOOOWWWN!" Mackenzie screamed while hitting and punching my back. That wouldn't work for me.

Mackenzie's POV

I clawed at Hayes's back but he wouldn't give in. In fact, he was giggling at me.

He threw me in the water and swam after me. "HAYES IM GONNA KILL YOU! GET BACK HERE!" I screamed at Hayes.

I jumped on his back and tried to tackle him underwater. He laughed and grabbed my arms before I could do anything.

Hayes spin me around in the water an his face soon neared mine. We were inches apart and I could feel his hot breath on my face. He grinned at me and started speaking.

"Mackenzie there's someth-"

That's when Nash called us to get out of the water and get ready to head for home. Hayes slowly swam away from me.

What was he gonna say?

"TAG YOUR IT!!" Hayes tagged my arm and ran out to shore.

"NOT FAIR GRIER I'LL GET YOU"

We ran until we both got to the place where we had been the while day.

"Here's your phone. I heard it beep not that long ago." Nash handed me my phone and I had a new message from an unknown number.

It said: "If you think Hayes is yours then think again. He's mine and I will get him before you. He wouldn't like a slut like you anyways. Kisses!"

Attached was a picture of me and Hayes in the water holding each other. Someone had been watching us?

I quickly shut my phone off and threw it in my bag. It was probably just a crazy fan anyways.

"You ok?" Hayes asked me. I think he saw me throw my phone in my bag.

"Um yeah I'm fine. Wanna go and crash at my house?" I asked everyone. They all nodded and we raced to the car.

I couldn't stop thinking about that message I got...

I needed to watch out for Hayes. But mostly if I wanted him to be mine first I would have to tell him my feelings for him and FAST......
