Mackenzie's POV
Hayes led me to a lake that was off of a dirt road. I blushed and looked in his eyes.
"Aweeee Hayes this is so romantic! Even though its just a lake." He looked down. I could feel his face turning red.
"I wanted to do something simple, you know?" Hayes kept on walking until we were at the edge of the water.
The water sparkled in the moonlight, the fireflies were lighting up the night as they went along flying through the air. It was all perfect.
"Hey, do you know how to skip a rock on a lake?" he asked me. I shook my head no. Hayes bent down to feel the ground for what he thought was the perfect rock to skip.
He picked up two smooth rocks and handed one to me. "Watch me first." My eyes followed every movement as Hayes swung his arm back with the rock in his hand.
It slid from his hand and went across the water in a ripple. "That was good! So I just throw it right?" Hayes came over and stood behind me.
He wrapped his arms around me. Hayes now had his hands on mine. I looked back at him and smiled. "Just like this," he whispered as he gently swung my arm back and then forwards again.
The rock made a perfect ripple through the water. Before Hayes could slip away from me, I tilted my head backwards and kissed him. During the kiss he smiled which made me smile as well.
***SKIP REST OF THE TIME AT THE LAKE***
The rest of the night consisted of Hayes and I cuddling in the moonlight by the edge of the lake.
We were on my front steps. I looked up and met his stare. "Thank you for tonight. It was fun. Like forreal!" He laughed as those last words slipped out of my mouth.
"Well I guess that I'll see you tomorrow hopefully! Maybe we can have a lazy day and cuddle an watch movies together while you wear my football hoodie." I stepped closer to Hayes and kissed him.
"I'm sure that we could make that work." I saw a smirk come across his face.
"I'll text you. Oh and you'll get your hoodie tomorrow. Goodnight babe!" He kissed me one last time before jumping off the stairs and running towards his house for the night.
I was left standing in the darkness. The only light that was visible to me were the lights on my front steps.
When I walked inside it was quiet. Almost to quiet. I figured that everybody must have been sleeping seeing what time it was when I checked my phone.
I lazily ran my hands through my hair to pull it away from my face. Right as I was halfway up the long spiral staircase, I heard a giant, "WE MISSED YOU!"
My parents were popped out from behind the couch with party hats and noisemakers in their hands. Wait, my parents were actually getting along now?
I pushed those thoughts aside and ran down to hug them both quickly before making an attempt to go to bed. I was tired after tonight!
"I'm tired. Like pooped out. I'm going to go to bed and catch some z's okay? Okay."
My parents nodded and kissed me goodnight.
I was in my room now but to lazy to shower. Instead of just changing I put my iPhone on my nightstand and fell into my nice, comfy, warm bed.
I'd have a nice day tomorrow
Or at least I hoped so...

I have an idea for the ending.
