A Night On My Own

Mackenzie's POV

Hayes packed up the picnic and just left the basket there. He grabbed my hand and we left. Who knows where we were going next!

"Haaayyyyesss! Where are you taking me?" I ruffled his hair and put my head on his shoulder.

Hayes said, "it's a surprise and we're walking there whether you like it or not!" I laughed and agreed.

Walking through Florida was amazing. Watching the palm trees sway silently back and forth in the wind. Listening to the sound of people laughing and kids giggling. Even the faint smell of salt water was calming.

Hayes and I had been walking for about 30 minutes now. We had just been enjoying each others presence, not saying anything at all. Our hands were still holding onto each other.

All of a sudden Hayes stopped walking. We were at a place that had a lot of beautiful flowers and palm trees. There was nobody else there except us. Hayes let go of my hand and reached into his pocket for something.

"Here," he said as he took my right hand with his left hand. Hayes had his right hand behind his back. Then he got down on one knee.

I cupped my mouth with both of my hands. My eyes widened and I think I got a little teary eyed.

Hayes pulled out a little black box from behind him and held it in both of his hands.

"Mackenzie Smith, I don't know what I would do without you. I know that I've messed up a lot and I'm stupid for that. But I have you here with me right now. And I love you. I really hope that you love me. Will you promise to be mine?"

He opened the box and there laid a silver promise ring. I shook my head yes and engulfed him in a hug after he got up.

When he let go of me he took the ring out of the box and slipped it on my left index finger. I threw my arms on his shoulders and kissed him. He kissed back as his hands found there way to my torso.

Everything about that kiss was perfect. I've never had a kiss like that one. It was simply amazing.

Hayes had his arm around my waist and mine was now around his shoulders. We continued walking for a little bit more until I saw a bunch of bright lights and heard loud noises.

He wanted to bring me to a fair that was on the beach!

The sun was slowly going down now. "Hayes lets go on the Ferris wheel first! Please!" I said while attempting to drag him to it.

Right as we paid to get into the fair a bunch of fans flocked around Hayes. I let go of his hand and found a bench to sit down on. I wasn't used to this yet.

After about an hour I went to go and grab some cotton candy because Hayes still was with his fans.

"I'll get some blue raspberry flavored cotton candy," I said while giving the cashier a dollar. She handed me a plastic bag with some delicious cotton candy inside.

I took the twist tie off the bag and started picking cotton candy off of the top of the bag. When I looked to where Hayes was I saw that there was STILL a big crowd of fans around him.

Well, I couldn't do this anymore so I simply had a night with myself.

First I played some games and ended up winning the biggest bear there. I smiled and took it into my arms. It was so fluffy!

Next, I went on the Ferris wheel and put the giant stuffed bear in the seat across from me. It just sat there looking at me with the same face.

Once I got off of that I decided to go and get some cheese fries with my new stuffed bear.

I got a small order of cheese fries and waited at the next window for them to come out.

When they did I thanked the lady and took them to a bench that had the best view of the water. The sun was gone now. The moon reflected its light onto the water and it looked beautiful.

After finishing my cheese fries I decided to go back to the hotel with my bear. Oh and I named my bear Marcel!

Hayes was no where to be found so I left. Once I was far enough away from the fair I waved for a taxi. One stopped and let me in.

After arriving back at the hotel I paid the driver and got out, taking Marcel with me.

As I unlocked my room door I heard screaming and yelling. It was coming from Cams room.

It was probably about Morgan being pregnant. Poor Morgan.

I got into my room and found everybody in there except Morgan, Hayes, and Cam. They were all sitting in a circle.

Nash was the first to speak. "Where's Hayes?"

I sat down next to Sayge and Aaron and I put Marcel on my bed. "Well he took me out and gave me a promise ring. Then we went to a fair and he got flocked with fans. So I had a fun night with myself. Oh and don't forget Marcel my giant new stuffed bear! Anyways, when I left I couldn't find Hayes anywhere so I just left."

"So he choose his fans over you after he gave you a promise ring?" Jack G said.

"Yeah, I guess so. It's rude isn't it?" Everybody nodded and we sat there for a little while just talking.

"LET'S MAKE A VINE!" Matt suggested. We all laughed at his excitement and nodded yes.

"What can we do in it?" Taylor asked.

"The most random vine ever!" I said.

"That sounds good. What do we start off with doing?" Nash asked.

"Um, maybe one of us can do a weird dance move. And then somebody can hump the air. Finally, someone can open a soda and feed it to somebody else." Jack J had the best idea.

First, Mahogany did a weird dance move. We all laughed and went on to Taylor humping the air. For the last one, Cam had to feed me a soda. We all laughed when we had watched the final video.

That's when somebody knocked on the door. Nash got up to go and answer it.

I heard sobs and heavy breathing. Hayes?

"Dude, she doesn't want to see you right now. So go back to your room. You know what you did."

"Nash, I was stuck in the middle of all of the girls and I couldn't get out! It's not fair!"

Nash slapped Hayes. "THE ONLY THING THAT'S NOT FAIR IS HOW YOU GIVE YOUR GIRLFRIEND A PROMISE RING AND THEN CHOOSE YOUR FANS OVER HER! NOW GO!"

Nash slammed the door on him. I got up to go and give him a hug. "Thank you," I said into his chest.

"No problem!"

For the rest of the night we just sat there and talked basically. It was 2 in the morning when everybody left. All except Sayge and I.

I got changed into a pair of purple stretchy waist band shorts and a plain black t shirt.

I plugged my phone into the charger and got into bed. Sayge did to so I shut the lights off and we exchanged our good nights.

Soon enough, sleep took over me.
