Let It Go

Mackenzie's POV

I woke up to an empty room. Sayge wasn't in here. It was still raining outside and the clouds flooded the sky. Everything seemed dark and gray.

I rolled out of my bed and lazily walked to the bathroom to take a nice warm shower. The door knob clicked as I locked the door.

I peeled my clothes off and stepped in the nice hot shower. The water felt good on my body. I think I stayed in there for 30 minutes.

I got out of the shower and dried off. Going to find my clothes, I saw my phone screen light up with a new message. I just ignored it for now so that I could get dressed.

My outfit consisted of plain black leggings and my Cameron Dallas hoodie. I left my hair normal and let it air dry.

Finally I picked up my dirty clothes and my wet towel and took care of them and went to go and look at my phone.

The message was from Hayes. I rolled my eyes and read it.

"Listen, I know that you're probably not going to reply but I'm sorry and I still love you. That was from Magcon... she meant nothing to me. I feel like I keep messing our relationship up and well yeah I do. And I'm sorry. I understand if you decide not to take me back again:("

After reading it I went to go put on some perfume and mascara in the bathroom.

Once I was done I grabbed my phone and a room key to go and find Sayge. She had probably crashed in Jack J's room.

When I stepped out into the hallway my gaze was instantly met with the sight of Hayes sitting on the floor against the wall crying.

In an attempt to avoid him I tried to walk down the hall the other way to make it look like I was going somewhere.

When I was about halfway down the hall I heard my name called.

"Mackenz-z-zie!"

I didn't turn around. In fact I kept on going. I anxiously clicked the elevator button when I reached it. The doors finally opened and once I got into the elevator tears started spilling out of my eyes.

Why did I care so much?

Hayes doesn't care about you anyways so why do you care?

But you saw him crying and calling after you in the hallway.

No no stop it Mackenzie!

He means nothing to you now. He's cheated on you twice. ALREADY!

When I got down to the lobby I stood there for a second and pondered on where to go. That's when I came up with the idea of a walk on the beach for a bit.

Before leaving the lobby I texted everybody (in our group conversation) that I wasn't going to Magcon today. Everyone asked why but I just didn't have the energy to tell them yet.

I arrived at the beach and began my walk down the edge of the ocean. Many thoughts raced through my head and made me think. They all were about Hayes and how I should deal with this big mess.

As a soft gust of salty air hit my face it calmed me down. The sound of the waves crashing at the shore was relaxing. And the kids laughing and having fun made me smile and think back to when I was a kid.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out to see that Hayes was calling me.

I had to face my problems.

So I answered the call. "Mackenzie just know that I still love yo-" I cut him off with anger in my voice.

"Hayes, listen to me! You obviously don't love me! Why did you cheat on me twice in one week? Huh? We're done so don't even bother calling me and texting me trying to tell me how much you really care. Because you know what Grier? My heart isn't just a ball that you can bounce back and forth to yourself when you want it. No more of 'us' got it?"

The line was silent and then he responded. "Its not what you think. I'm so sorry. I really am. I'm not going to Magcon today because i need to rest and cry and let it all out. I guess this is good bye..." Then the line was disconnected.

I shoved my phone back in my pocket and kept on walking. That's when my eyes started to water again. I found a rock in the sand and sat on it to let myself cry it all out.

When I had my head in my knees I felt a soft finger touch my shoulder and a sweet voice say, "Are you ok?"
