October seemed to be the best time of the year. The autumn weather was in full effect, the hoodies being tugged out of the closets, being replaced by shorts that were no longer needed. New York City was particularly cold this evening, Luna Giraldo wrapped in a fuzzy blanket that Liz had given her three years ago. Filming had finished the month before, season 2 having premiered the previous night, leaving her flooding in positive comments.
Liz and Mia had gone out to retrieve a pizza for their "girls night" even though every night with those three was a girls night. This left Luna alone in her apartment, with the perfect amount of alone time to facetime a certain someone.
"If Archie fucks over Veronica, I'm killing KJ," Was how he greeted her, the smile on his face contradicting his threat.
Luna rose an eyebrow at her boyfriend, amused by his statement, "Is that so?" He nodded with no hesitation, going on to explain why Veronica Lodge deserved to be treated with utmost respect, something that Archie wasn't suited to do said his past. Luna listened to her boyfriend's rambling with a smile on her face, admiring how he'd only come up with an elaborate explanation like this for her. She could have listened to him speak of her character for hours, but she eventually put a stop to his rambling. "Babe, Liz and Mia are gonna get back soon. We need to talk dates."
Tom stopped completely, nodding to the girl. Now that Luna wasn't busy filming, she had time to see Tom more often. They'd decided that they'd create a schedule, wanting to spend time together, but also needing to see their own families. "Okay, so I was there... last week. So next time you come is... my birthday?"
Tom hesitated, because truth was he wasn't sure when he'd get time off, and he didn't want to promise something then have to break it. Luna, noticing his hesitation, frowned as she shook her head, "Don't worry if you can't, I understand."
That was another thing, Luna did understand. And it made him feel bad. He didn't want his girlfriend to understand the fact that he might miss her birthday is because he's working, it was shitty on his part, but he couldn't help it. He hated that she was so understanding all the time, at times he wished she would just throw a fit like any other girl would, so he could not feel as bad about it.
"I want to," He reminded her, chewing on his bottom lip. "But I don't want to promise you anything, then have to break the promise."
She shook her head, "I know, I know." She looked back down at the paper in on her lap, tapping her pen on Christmas. "Christmas Eve at mine, then Christmas day at yours?" The one time she was thankful for her family celebrating on Christmas Eve was now, seeing as she could spend the holiday with her boyfriend without taking him away from his family.
Tom immediately nodded at this, "Definitely." His family had been asking for a while when Luna would be coming back, the girl leaving a lasting impression on them. It didn't shock him that his family loved her, Luna was a very lovable person, he knew that first hand. What surprised him was how much they'd kept up with his relationship; Harrison would never let him forget the look of shock he wore when his father asked about Daniel Georgeson while on a phone call. He'd gotten a long talk about how he can't let "meatheads" like Daniel Georgeson get in the way of him and Luna, because she was "too marriage material" to lose so quickly. Needless to say, Tom was a new shade of red following that phone call.
"You'd be meeting my family that day," Luna pointed out, a smile playing on her lips. Tom's eyebrows knitted together in confusion, causing Luna to laugh. "I mean, my whole family. Uncles, aunts, cousins. You'll really be part of the family after that night."
Tom grinned, "I look forward to it."
Luna's bedroom door opened, Mia Lancaster poking her head, cheeks red from the cold. "We come with pizza," She informed the girl, Luna nodding as she turned back to the phone. Mia wandered over to the bed, smiling at the phone. "Hi Tom."
Tom waved slightly, smiling at the girl, "Hi Mia. Haz misses you, you should call him."
Luna glanced back at her friend just in time to see a smile spread on her lips, before the girl scurried out of the room. Luna snickered, "Good job at getting rid of her." Tom shrugged in response, before Liz called her from the kitchen. "I have to go now, but I'll text you. Love you."
