Chapter 29

Xavier~

'Where are the other girls ?' My dad mind links me.

'I told them to be here at 8 sharp. Only Aria arrived earlier ' I tell him

'You need to explain them their duties. They need to be responsible ' he adds.

Allison appears from the staircase. She stands shocked, her eyes travelling around the room. Her eyes meet mine and she freezes even more.

"Come here Allison" I say and she shakes her head slightly, then keeps walking until she reaches us.

I introduce her to our guests and she tenses even more. She simply gives them a hand shake and then stands next to Aria.

"Why are you late ?" I whisper to her

"I lost track of time " she whispers back after clearing her throat. Aria appears next to her and puts her hand on her shoulder.

"Where the hell is Emerson? " my voice very low so that only them can listen.

"Getting dressed" Aria laughs

"Not now Aria. One of you should go find her " I say

" I'll go " Aria offers

"No, it's fine I'll go " Allison insists.

"One of you just go and bring her down here " I roll my eyes. Allison turns around and leaves before Aria can react.

"You've got a very wonderful house Xavier " Blake approaches us.

"Thank you Blake. I'm sure your house is very nice too " I say and he smiles

"Why don't we go to the dining area? Xavier are the other girls alright? " My mum asks me.

"They'll be down in a second " I say

" Okay, come and find us when you're ready " my dad says and all of them walk away, leaving me and Aria alone.

"I am so glad that everyone listens to me when I talk " I say sarcastically.

"I did listen " Aria says

"For once in your life " I say

"I am not the one being late here, but still I'm the one listening to you complaining " Aria says and before I can reply, Emerson and Allison reach the bottom of the stairs.

"Alpha I am so sorry that I'm late" Emerson apologises

"We'll discuss this later. We have to go and join the others now. At least don't do anything else to embarrass me" I tell them and I notice Aria mumbling something bit I ignore that.

I am the last who walks inside the the room. My dad looks mad, I can't tell that my mum is really bothered. When Blake and his family meet Emerson, we all take our seats and the food arrives.

"Xavier what if you find your mate after choosing a girl from a contest ? Why will you do ?" Blake asks me

"What if one girl during the contest finds her mate ?" Blake asks me again

"I am not going to keep her away from her mate. " I tell him and he nods

"I've never really thought of this before, but I think that I will keep the girl from the contest" I tell them.

I don't think I would be able to kick out of this place the girl that I chose just because I found my mate. I've no idea.

"We heard what happened with one man from the Ivory Pack. We're glad that this is over. He deserved to die after all " Xania says and I immediately look at Aria's face when those words leave her mouth.

She stops chewing her food and she freezes for a few seconds. She recoverfrom her rough words quicker than I expected and she keeps eating. I am glad that my dad changed the subject while I was looking at her.

My parents talk about how bored they are now that they don't have many things to do since they're not in charge. Blake keeps complaining about how difficult Alpha's life is. I don't really have much to say so I reply just with a nod or a shrug most of the time. Allison whispers some things to Aria once in a while and she just nods her head or smiles.

Allison stands up and approaches me. Her shoes click the floor rhythmically.

"Alpha I would like to go back to my room " she whispers

"Why? We're all here now "I whisper back

"I really want to go. Please " she begs me

"You can't leave right now Allison. What's wrong ? " I ask her

"I just want to go to my room " she repeats.

"I said no " I insist and without a warning she sprints towards the door. She is out of the room in a matter of seconds. Aria stands up, her gaze is on the door. She starts walking towards the door as well. I stand up and stop her.

"Go and sit back down Aria " I tell her as I am standing in front of her.

"What happened to her ?" She asks me

"I don't know. Just go sit down and we'll find out later. Please " I tell her

"She's my friend Xavier. I know that you don't really care but I do. Now step away and let me go see her " she says but I stay still.

"Xavier " she still insists.

"We will be right back " I tell them and turn around and open the door, leading her outside.

"You don't have to follow me " she tells me

"You can't stop me " I say

"We kind of ruined this day" she half jokes

"It could be worse " I shrug

"True " she laughs

"You don't have to come with me though " she says again

"I just want to see if she's alright " I say and she nods.

"So only a few days left. Then 2 of us will have to go back home " she tells me

"Are you nervous Aria ?" I laugh

"No, but it is fun here. And I don't want this to be over " she says

"Who says that it will be over?" I ask her

"All good things come to an end " she says. We're in front of Allison's door so I choose to drop it. Her guard is outside her door.

"Is she in here ?" I ask him

"She came here about a minute ago " he tells us

Aria knocks the door and I can hear her feet hitting the floor from the other side of the door. She opens it and looks at us.

"Allison are you okay ?" Aria asks her

"I need to talk to you. Privately. " She adds. Aria looks at me and I nod leaving them alone.
