Chapter 35

Aria~

We make our way back towards the house. Xavier is silent most of the times. I just ask him a few questions about some buildings and other things that catch my eye.

"Did you have fun ?" He asks me

"I really did. Thanks for letting me come here " I thank him.

"No problem. I would be so mad if I found out that you left the house without telling us " he tells me.

"I told Stuart, " I say and he laughs.

"Then Stuart told me and here you are now," he says.

"Aria, can I ask you something?" He asks me.

"Sure"

"Your dad is dead. However, we both know that when your mate dies, you die as well. Your mum is still alive though " he says

"That's a very good question," I tell him.

"I don't know a lot of things but I'll tell you everything that I know " I add.

"My mum is not my dad's mate. His mate was named Grace. She was from my Pack.  Her brother was my dad's best friend so that's how they met. Grace loved another man though. So one day Grace and the other man left the Pack and nobody has ever seen them since that day. My dad met my mum months later. She even rejected her own mate for my dad so now you know how much the loved each other. That's how she's still alive " I explain.

"That is very complicated, " he says and I laugh.

"It really is. If you ask me I hate this whole mate thing. This is my life and I want to choose the one that I want to live with. " I say.

"You are not the only one. My dad hated my mum when they first met. But look at them now. They can't even live 5 minutes away from each other " he jokes.

"Would you ever reject your mate for someone else? " he asks me

"I don't know. As I said I don't like being forced to have a connection with someone. That's why I don't like the mating bonds. If I could do something to change that I would definitely do that" I say.

"I see what you mean " he nods.

"We are almost there. We should be as quiet as possible " he tells me.

"Can you see if the guard is around  ?" I whisper.

"Wait here, " he tells me and walks closer to the gates.

"Come closer " he whispers and I walk to his side.

"It will take him less than 2 minutes to come back so we should hurry, " he says. His eyes focused somewhere in front of us.

"Go " he pushes me forward and I climb up the tall iron gates as fast as I can, being as careful as possible.

Xavier is faster than me and he's already standing next to me.

"Come on Aria " he whispers.

*Flashback *

Violet, we have to hurry up " I tell her.

" It's just too high for me Ar. I need more time " Violet tells me.

"They are going to see us if you don't hurry up," I tell her and she shakes her head.

"Just climb up that wall. Come on " I tell her and I am already standing on the top of this tall wall.

" Give me your hand, " I tell her as I lean down to grab her arm.

"You can do this. Just don't look down " I tell her and she mumbles something that I am not able to hear.

"Come on Violet, " I tell her.
