Chapter 43

Xavier~

Aria told me everything. She explained why she fell from the fence. She told me the whole scene. I felt like an idiot. I just stood there, looking at her eyes without speaking. Honestly I didn't know what to say. I left her room a few minutes ago. Now I'm in my office thinking about everything.

She has been through a lot. Even though she is still incredibly strong and brave. She stands up for herself and I admire that.

"Xavier, darling " my mum walks inside my office.

"Hello mother "I say as she walks closer to my desk.

"I am sorry for interrupting you but your dad and I decided something " she starts

"Which is ?"

"Since Aria is okay now, you will have to choose the Luna tonight " she announces

"What ?"

"You heard me son! You have announce the Luna tonight. We can't wait anymore " she says

"Mother I don't know if you know that but I am the Alpha. And I am going to decide whenever I want to. This is not your decision to make so please don't meddle in this " I warn her

"I knew you would act like this. That's why I've invited all the girls here. They are on the way. Whether you like it or not, you are choosing tonight " she tells me

"You know who you have to choose Xavier. Don't embarrass me " she adds

"Be there at 8" before I can tell her anything she storms out of the room.

I can't believe her. She is so annoying. She can't tell me what to do. I hate it when someone tells me what I can and what I cannot do. This is my life and I do whatever I want.

But right now since she has invited everyone I can't tell them to go back. I would announce the alumna tomorrow. A few hours won't make a difference.

I leave my office and go back to my room. I spend a lot of time thinking about my decision. Why does it have to be so difficult?

When I get ready I make my way downstairs. My steps are insanely slow. When the staircase comes to an end I take a deep breath and open the dining room's door.

When I walk inside, everyone looks at me. About a second later my parents walk inside.

"Thanks for being here today " I tell them

"I know that most of you thought that I would announce the Luna tomorrow but plans changed " everyone looks at me with wide eyes.

"I will announce the Luna after dinner " I say and walk closer to the table.

I can't say that I feel like eating. My thoughts keep be busy. If I choose Emerson, I will be with my mate. If I choose Aria I will reject my mate but I will be with her. I wish I didn't have to do that. I wish I could ignore my mother's warning but it's impossible. My mum has always been kind of....Bossy...That's why I prefer my dad.

All the girls are here. Even Macy. I haven't seen her in a very long time. But I am sure that if I meet her again it won't end well so I will keep avoiding her. Her eyes don't move from her plate. She stays quiet most of the time. Nobody speaks to her. Gianna is sitting next to Emerson. Just like the old days. If Kinsley was here she would be sitting next to Allison. But this time her mate is sitting next to her. I catch him talking to Allison but that's all.

My gaze catches Aria's. The way she looks at me with her big eyes. Sometimes she looks away. Or sometimes she continues staring as if to initiate a staring contest. But this time I am the one who looks away.
