Chapter 39

Xavier ~

"Xavier you really have to decide" my mum says. "It's been months"

"I will have to wait. Aria can't remember anything. We have to wait" I insist.

"For goodness sake Xavier. She is not the one for you. Why can't you accept that ?"my mum raises her voice.

"Because I don't want to. I don't like Emerson mum. She is the worst girl I have ever met. She might appear like an angel when she's around you but she's a total devil. I never liked her. I should have kicked her out of the contest a long time ago" I tell her and she shakes her head.

"She is you mate Xavier. Stop acting like that. You have a connection with her. You can't ignore that. You will just make it more difficult for yourself" she says

"No! You can't change my mind. I am not going to choose Emerson no matter what. I know that she is my mate but she can't make me happy. I thought that you wanted me to be happy mum. What happened now ?" I ask her

"Of course I want you to be happy! But you should keep on mind that she is you rate for a reason. You have not even given her a chance. You have given up on her Xavier. How would you feel if your mate rejected you? " She tells me

" I would not care. It's her life. It would affect me but I would get over her. Emerson is a strong woman. She will get over me. She is smart and beautiful and I am sure she will find someone else the moment she walks out of this house " I say and she shakes her head once again while laughing.

"I don't even know why we are discussing this. Looks like I am completely useless here. I can't change your mind. You are ruining your life Xavier. It will be too late when you understand that " with that she leaves my office, slamming the door behind her and leaving me looking at the door.

Her words are not going to change my mind. I know she is right. I know that Emerson is my mate and I have never giver her a chance since I've never spent much time with her. But she is not who I want to be with. She is not the one that can make me happy. But right now I can't tell my Pack that Aria is the one. She will be really mad at me when she starts remembering things and finds out that I chose her over my mate. But I choose her. And I will choose her over and over again. Without a doubt.

I leave my office and make my way upstairs. I really hope she is still in the garden. When I open the door I look around but my eyes can't find her.

"Aria ?" My voice says

No reply

"Are you in here ?" I say but still no reply.

"Alpha Xavier" a male voice says and I look behind me and see Ben.

"Oh hello Ben " I greet him

"Did you see a girl in here ?"I ask him

"Aria ?" He asks me

"So you met her " I remark

"Yes I did. She left a few minutes ago " he informs me.

"No Alpha. She did not mention anything " Ben tells me

"Okay thank you "I say and walk away.

I step inside my room and look around. She is nowhere to be found.

"Where the hell is she ?" I whisper to myself.

"Did you see Aria ?" I ask the guards outside my door.

"No Alpha " they shake their heads and I huff.

"Let me know If she comes here " I tell them and they nod.

I checked every single room on her floor but all of them were empty. I bet she is outside. I run downstairs as fast as I can. It's raining outside but I am sure that the rain would not stop her for coming out here. 

A scream fills my ears. The scream tears through me like a great shard of glass. I feel my eyes widen and pulse quicken, my heart thudding like a rock rattling in box. The scream comes again, desperate, terrified...

When I find her some guards are already next to her. Her eyes are fixed on something on the ground. Her watery eyes enlarged and the hairs on the nape of her neck bristled. A gaggle of goose pimples laminates her frigid, skin.

"Not today " I whisper as I walk closer her

"Aria " I call her name and she turns to look at me. I can see anger in her eyes.

"Why is he here ?" She yells

"Could you please calm down ?" I beg her

"No! Why is my brother here ?" She demands

"Wait what ? Can you recognise him ?" I ask her as I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Don't touch me " she flinches and takes a step backwards.

"Aria do you remember this guy ?"I ask her again and she looks back at the dead body on the ground then her eyes return to my face.

"That is my so-called brother " she admits

"Why is he here ?" She asks me

"I don't know. I did not tell them to leave him here " I tell her

"Why is he here Xavier ?" She asks me again.

"I told you that I don't know " I tell her.

"You know everything" she says

"Can we talk about this somewhere else. It's raining. " I say

"I will leave only when you take him from here " she says

"Fine! You two, take him away from here " I say and grab Aria's hand pulling her away from that place.

"I don't know why he is here Aria. When I was mad I told my guards to leave him in the middle of the forest but I never really thought that they would do that. I never asked them again after that day" I explain

"How can you remember him ?" I ask her

"I can remember a few things now " she tells me

"It must be your werewolf healing process " I tell her.

"Probably " she shrugs.

"What can you remember? " I ask her as we keep walking inside. She is soaked, wet, and cold. Some of her hair has fallen out of her messy bun.

"I can remember the scene with my brother. I can remember Kinsley and..." She stops explaining and I get what she is trying to say.

"Can you remember the first day that you came here ?" I ask her

"I have some very faded memories. The rest things are not really clear " she says and I nod. I open the front door for her and she steps inside then rubs her arms so she can warm herself up.

"I am sorry that you had to see that " I tell her.

"You always say that " she shrugs and leaves me there alone.

She is hot and cold at the same time. In her eyes are the sun, the moon and the stars. Her soul is icy as her heart is cold. Sometimes everything about her seems illogical and irrational. She is tough. She is difficult. She is like the sea. If you don't understand her, you will drown. But she is worth every effort.
