Renewing Vows

Today dad and Carole are renewing their vows to each other, which for me might be a little stressful with Blaine on my hands as I really want to stay but I know he'll end up being fussy around his bedtime, that's why I'm gonna try and put him down for a late nap.

"Today's the day" I cheer as I finish up with clearing up breakfast while Blaine played.

"I can't wait, it's gonna be beautiful" Carole smiles.

"Are you giving Blaine a late nap or keeping it as usual?" Dad asks.

"Well, I'm gonna try to put him down for a late nap, maybe 3:00 - 4:00/4:30, but if I can't get him down then, I'll just have to deal with him, nothing I can do really" I tell them.

"Kurt, honey, if you have to leave early, don't worry, we'll understand" Carole says as she rubs my arm.

"Thanks, but I really want to be there"

"It's fine honey" we soon sort out the place and I try to keep Blaine awake.

"Shall we go to the park, Blaine?" I call to him. It was now 1:15 and Blaine would usually be asleep by now but I have 1 hour and 45 minutes to keep him awake.

"Come then, let's get dressed" I tried to be enthusiastic so he could sense that excitement.

"Yay" he cheers. I take him upstairs and change his nappy before putting him into a pair of stretchable denim shorts and a cream coloured short sleeve shirt that had a grey pocket and two buttons on the shoulder.

"There we are, already for the park" I smile at him. I take him back downstairs and put him down while I packed a small bag.

"Dese daddy" he comes running to me.

"You want those ones?" I ask him.

"Pwease"

"Alright" I put his brown shoes on before putting my own shoes and grabbing his bag.
