"Two days. Two days ka na pumapasok sa school at two days ka ng napapalabas! Joao, anong... anong meron?" Ogie scolded Joao.

It was very early in the morning, and Joao was still half-asleep. But his fuming uncle cannot be stopped from his outburst even though he himself is still wearing his nighttime clothes. Joao tried to peer and then he moaned,

"Tito - ?"

Ogie cut him off.

O: Wag mo akong matito-tito! (sighs) ... I just learned from my colleagues yesterday kung anu-ano ang mga pinaggagawa mo. I... I waited for you all night para makausap ka. Pero where were you? Anong oras ka na nakauwi, ha?

J: Uncle... I was here before 10. I don't think you would consider that as late. Besides, at least I go to school -

O: Joao! Tinutulugan mo sila! Mas mabuti na yatang hindi ka na pumasok kung ganyan ka.

J: Fine! Then I won't!

He said with such full force that Ogie was taken aback. Joao pulled the sheets over him. He sulked in his bed.

Ogie sighed. He sat at the edge of Joao's bed.

O: JC, what do you want?

J: Don't call me JC!

Joao bellowed from under his sheets.

O: Jo-Aw. Listen. What do you want to do? Hmm? Do you want to travel? Gusto mo bang pumunta ng Boracay? Party, ha?

Joao did not respond. Ogie continued,

O: Two months pa ang stay mo dito. May gusto ka bang gawin? Come on. Name it. I will let you do it.

Joao rolled down his sheets. He peeked. Then he muttered,

J: I want to go home.

O: Home? Eh nasa bahay ka na ah.

J: I mean MACAU!

He rolled his eyes. Ogie reached Joao's foot and massaged it.

O: Anywhere except Macau. Alam mo namang mainit pa ang mata ng press sa yo dun.

J: But I want to go home now.

Ogie heaved a deep sigh. He then said,

O: Okay. Let's make arrangements. Hmmm... ano kayang maganda? Ah! Jo-Aw, I will convince Mira na umuwi ka na next month -

J: No way! I want now!

O: Shhh! Wag mo akong guluhin. Orayt, next month. But promise me, you will study, okay? Dadaan ka sa mga lessons nila. Just like any other student. Ipapass mo yung mga requirements mo. Just like your classmates. Is it a deal?

J: Rotten deal. Whatever.

He buried his head with his sheets.

O: But I need to see it, Jo-Aw.

Ogie stood up. Then he continued,

O: Try to blend in! Become a student once more... This is school. Marami kang matututunan at makikilala. Life is fun. Enjoy! Hindi forever 20 ka.

He tapped Joao's foot once again, signaling his goodbye. Then he left the room quickly.
