Chapter 8 - Kiddo

(POV Kim)

Pag mulat ng mata ko, nasa loob ako ng isang all white na kwarto. May bandage din na naka wrap sa ulo ko at may cast yung braso ko.

Bago pa ko makapag-isip kung ano nangyari, nagmamadaling tumakbo si mommy at daddy papasok sa kwarto. They embraced me and I can see the relief in their face now that I am awake.

Apparently, meron pala akong fractures at concussion from the car accident, yet the doctors assured me that I will better in the next few weeks.

*Knock Knock*

A man on his early twenties filled the door. Matangkad, gwapo at may perfect angelic face. Parang familiar siya.

Ay pota, teka, ano ginagawa ni Elijah Torres dito? Anong ginagawa ng love of my life dito sa hospital?

Oh right! Si Elijah pala ang careless man na bumangga sa akin with his fucking expensive car. Shit, hindi pala panaginip ang lahat.

"Can I come in?"

His voice is full of gentleness. Kung wala lang si mommy at daddy baka niyakap ko na siya ng bonggang bongga. Yung mga parents ko, alam naman nila na diehard fanatic ako ni Elijah ay biglang nagpaalam para kami ay mapag-isa.

Biruin mo, si Elijah pa nakabangga sa akin? Napaka swerte ko naman ata.

"Hey Kimmy, kamusta ka na?"

With just few steps, nasa harap ko na si Elijah. Grabe, sobrang gwapo niya sa malapitan. He remained expressionless na parang di mo malalaman ever kung ano iniisip niya. He sat on my bed without asking permission.

"You should be careful next time or you might end up dead."

"Salamat sa advice, Mr. Careless. Mag focus ka din sa daan or you might end up killing someone."

He raised his brow and smirked at me. Damn, Elijah looks gorgeous up close.

Bakit parang gusto ko siya ihug at ikiss? Shit, ganto ba talaga ang pagkahumaling ko kay Elijah? Baliw ba talaga ko sa kanya?

Before I can continue savoring him in my imagination, nagsimula siyang magsalita.

"Kimmy, let me recount what happened. Pauwi ka na ng bahay niyo at may high fever ka, pero you did not bother to ask your parents to pick you up. You are either careless or stupid. Then, you passed out in the road and that is why I hit you."

"Geez! Salamat sa pag point out that this is entirely my fault."

I can't believe what I am hearing. My Elijah Torres is such a dick. I always imagine him as my knight in shining armour, not an ass like this.

"I didn't say that it is your fault, kiddo!"

"Eh parang sinabi mo na din na ginusto ko maconfine sa hospital na ito! In fairness, parang hotel room."

Wait, did he just call me kiddo? I am not kid! I will soon be a woman!

"Look, kiddo, I am so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen. I promise to take care of everything."

"But I am not a kid, Elijah!"

Why does he keep telling me that I am a kid! This is getting annoying!

"Okay, Ms. Kimberley Dawn Everton, I apologise for what happened. But, I have to go now. My so-called fiancee is waiting for me. I will be back as soon as I can, okay?"

Fiancee? I didn't care when Pam told me about this. I was not feeling well due to colds this morning. Yung wedding rumor, mas pinalala pa ata yung fever ko. But hearing it straight from Elijah's mouth shattered my whole world.

Ikakasal na ba si Elijah baby ko? Ampotah totoo nga ang balita! Gusto ko na mamamatay!

"Totoo ba yun? Are you really going to marry Adrianna Mendez?" tanong ko sa kanya bago siya lumabas ng pinto. I need to know or else, this will ruin me.

"No, kiddo. I am too young for such shit."

I sighed in relief. Hay salamat! I guess this turned out to be the best day of my life.

"So, may chance na ang love team natin?"

Elijah burst in laughter. Akala niya siguro ginagago ko siya. He probably thinks that I am getting back at him for being hospitalized. Wala siyang kaalam alam na mahal ko siya.

"Of course, of course, kiddo. Who knows what the future holds?"

Nagpaalam na si Elijah sa akin dahil kakausapin daw niya si Adrianna.
