Chapter 13 - Fever

(POV Elijah)

My mind stop drifting when I heard a knock on my door. Siguro si Kim na yun. I texted her a few minutes ago na puntahan ako sa bahay. 

Si Matthew at ang parents ko ay nasa ancestral house sa probinsya. Si Vienna nasa Macau para sa isang fieldtrip. Samantalang si Sierra, ewan ko ba dun sa babaeng yun kung nasaan. Malamang nagboboxing na naman sa gym.

I want to stand up and open the door, but my body feels too heavy. It is freezing here kahit balot na balot na ko ng jacket.

"Hey, handsome. What happened? I got your message. Ok ka lang ba?" tanong ni Kim pag pasok niya sa kwarto ko.

Ilan beses na siya nakapunta dito sa bahay at open arms siya tinanggap ng Vienna at Sierra. They love her kasi para silang may mas batang kapatid na babae.

"Yeah, I am good. I feel cold and hot at the same time as if hell is freezing over."

"If that is your definition of good, you are on your worst good right now. Para kang tuta na may sakit, may first-aid kit ka ba?"

"I don't know, check the bathroom. Feeling ko pagod na pagod ako."

"You are probably dying, old man. Don't worry, ako ang superhero mo!" sigaw niya habang hinahalungkat ang bathroom cabinet ko. Kinuhanan niya ko ng temperature at di niya maitatago ang pag-aalala niya sa mukha niya.

"Is it terminal? How long do I have?" tanong ko sa kanya kasi palipat lipat ang tingin nita sa thermometer at sa mukha ko as if I am really dying.

"I can't say, probably a day or two. Do you have any last words?"

"Yeah, can you tell me what's fucking wrong with me?"

"Aside from being a temperamental handsome monster, mataas ang lagnat mo. Nagpaulan ka ba after ng basketball practice mo? Tatawagan ko si lolo mo para magpadala ng driver dito para dalin ka sa hospital."

"Give me some meds muna. Kapag di bumaba ang lagnat ko, call my lawyer and I will have him prepare my will and testament."

Kim just stared at me with her piercing eyes. She looks hot with her hands on her waist. I want to pull her close to me and kiss her pouting lips.

What the fuck is wrong with me? Kim is like a kid, a sister.

Potang lagnat to, kung ano ano naiisip ko! Fuck, eto ba yung kind of flu that will turn me into a zombie?

"Di ba tinawagan mo ko dahil kailangan mo ng tulong ko? So, I have decided na dalin ka sa hospital, as in now na."

"Kimmy, hospitals are not actually my thing. I am already sick and being there will make me worse."

"Am I asking for your fucking opinion? Ang taas ng lagnat mo? Paano kung mag seizure ka or convulsion? Di kita kayang buhatin!"

This stubborn little girl insisted to bring me to a hospital, but my determination is too strong.
