Chapter 31 - Back from the dead

Four years later...

"Just tell me that you are mine, and I am yours forever..."

Elijah's words keep echoing inside my head as if he is waking me up from a deep slumber. His voice seemed to pull me out of the pitch darkness. Binuksan ko ang mga mata ngunit wala si Elijah, andoon si mommy na umiiyak.

Asan ako? Bakit umiiyak si mommy?

The white painted walls and the staggering machines are dead giveaway that I am in a hospital.

Bakit ako nasa hospital? Anong nangyari?

Yakap ni mommy si daddy. They look tired and older, but their eyes are filled with excitement.

"Baby, I am so happy that you are back."

"Welcome home, honey."

I am back? From where? Welcome daw? Saan ako galing?

Gusto ko magtanong pero hindi ako makapagsalita. Yung buong katawan ko parang nanghihina. The doctors were busy checking my vitals and they are rejoicing as if a miracle just happened.

Yes, that's right. A miracle.

It seems that I came back from the dead or wherever that place I came from. I don't remember much, everything is a blur.

Nagsimulang magnarrate si mommy kung anong nangyari. Alam niya siguro na wala ako maalala. I just found out that I recently woke up from a coma with only few recollections of what happened to me. My parents told me that I was a victim of bomb explosion about four years ago.

Pauwi na ko from work at nagdidilim ang buong kalangitan. Imagine the scary dark skies from an apocalyptic movie. Ganern!

Masakit ang ulo ko at katawan. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Since I have bad habit of forgetting things, guess what? I forgot to bring my umbrella.

Ang tanga tanga ko. It is rainy season and I forgot my freaking savior.

Dumaan ako sa isang mall para bumili ng spare umbrella. I have a stable work at kaya ko na bilin ang kahit ano. Ang bilis ng pangyayari but I can clearly remember the deafening sound and flashes of light.

Apparently, a bomb exploded and I was included in the casualty.
