Chapter 11 - Burger

Super happy ako sa mga oras na ito. Kung mamamatay ako, feeling ko complete na ang pagkatao ko.

"Thhaannch yyoouw, Elijwaah. Thisch meanchs sooo muuuccch choo meew," sabi ko habang nilalamon ang burger.

Sa totoo lang, gusto ko umiyak. This is the first time na nagkalapit kami ni Elijah. Hindi ko akalain na ang isang Elijah Torres ay dadalhan ako ng burgers and chocolates.

"Hey, kiddo, are you crying?"

Yes, I am crying because of extreme happiness! I can't believe the love of my life brought me burgers and chocolates!

"Nyooo, nyyooo. I aaahmm juuscchh shhhappppy, shhooo muuccch haaappy. I looovhhh youuu!"

"Dadalhan kita palagi ng burger at chocolates kung iyan lang magpapasaya sayo. Sabi ng doctors mo, pwede ka na daw madischarge bukas, pero you need to rest for a few more days before going back to school. Saka meron ka din rehab therapy for your arm."

"That's fine. Meeting you in person can complete whole existence. Teka, bakit ba andito ko? Don't get me wrong, masaya ko na dinalaw mo ko, pero I thought you have a date with your wife to-be?"

Hindi sumagot si Elijah. Umupo siya sa tabi ko at kinain ang isa pang burger. Seeing him up close like this, devouring the scrumptious burger made me wish that I am was that burger.

Ang swerte ng burger! Dumadampi sa labi ni Elijah! Sana burger na lang ako!

"We broke up," he suddenly crack the silence after eating the burger halfway. I never thought watching a man eating a burger can be so sexy.

Dapat mag focus ako sa fact na break na si Elijah at Adrianna, pero busy ako sa pagtitig sa mga labi niya habang dumadampi sa burger.

What's wrong with me? High school pa lang ako pero ang landi ko na?

Oh Elijah! I am sorry to hear about your break-up with Adrianna. You must be in pain right now.

Nope, nope, and nope again. Bwahahahaha! I am not sorry at all!

I am actually glad, happy, jubilant, or whatever blissful feelings that I can think of. Gusto ko magpa-fiesta dahil break na sila! Yahooo!

"Are you alright?" I managed to asked after an awkward silence.

I decided to give Elijah the freedom if he will open up what happened to them. Ayoko naman siya tanungin ng personal questions. Baka isipin niya napaka chismosa ko. Though he is the love of my life, we just met a few hours ago. I am practically a stranger to him.

"She cheated on me and I saw it with my own eyes. Imagine that? Elijah Torres being played by a woman, how ironic."

"I am sorry. Siguro heartbroken ka ngayon," mahina ko ng sabi.

"Surprisingly, I did not feel any surge of fury. It is like nothing happened at all. Weird, isn't it? Di ba dapat magalit ako? Pero parang wala lang."

"Denial, iyan ang first stage ng grief. You should feel angry soon and eventually, you will pass those other stages and goes straight to acceptance. It is not the end of the world, my love. I am still here. Aalagaan kita higit pa sa ginagawa ni Adrianna. Gawin mo lang akong girlfriend, mamahalin kita ng lubos. Never kita lolokohin, I can promise you that"

There! I finally said it. Kaso, akala niya niloloko ko lang siya.

Well, why not take advantage of the situation? This is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"That sounds like an offer that no one can decline."

"Does it mean na boyfriend na kita?"

Elijah laughed in disbelief. "Yeah, you can say that."

I am sure he is just kidding me, but I will not let this opportunity pass me by. Kahit tingin niya na joke lang ito, I will cherish this moment.

Nagstay si Elijah sa hospital. Pinag-usapan namin kung paano niya nahuli si Adrianna with Marco. Nagshare din ako ng normal routine ko sa school. He also shared more about himself, his studies and his dreams.

Whenever there is a given chance, I will let him know how I truly feel for him. Yung bigla ko sasabihin na mahal ko siya, pakasalan niya ko or dapat boyfriend ko na lang siya, yung mga ganun.

Of course, wala siyang idea na totoo ang nararamdaman ko para sa kanya. He thinks I am just a crazy girl messing up with him.
