Voice

Lance woke up in pain in he leg. He looked over and saw Keith laying next to him. He had no idea what happened. He tried to speak but couldn't. So he leaned over and hit Keith.
"Ow come on wait a sec I will be at dinner soon."
Lance hit Keith again.
"Come on."
Keith opened his eyes and turned to see Lance.
"Lance your awake!"
Lance nodded and pointed to his throat.
"Oh yah, you had your throat slashed and it hit you voice box. And your foot broke and the pod let you out a little early so you won't have you voice."
Lance looked at him with a what??!? Look on his face.
"Yah, so lets go get some food it dinner time anyway."
They walk in and everyone looks up.
"LANCE!" They all screamed.
"How yah feeling?" Hunk asked
Lance game them a thumbs up.
"Thats good." Shiro said.
"Lance I- we are making a device that we implant and then you can speak again." Stated Pidge.
Lance nodded.
"Do you want any food?" Hunk asked.
Lance shook his head no and went to his room.
When he got in his room thoughts flooded in.
You are worthless without your voice.
You can't tell the team if something happened to you.
You would just die anyway.
Suddenly he turned around and found the knife.

Just like old times right?

No one will care.
Lance started to cut. Deep.

Then everything went black.
"Hey Lance I brought you some food I know you didn't want any bu- Lance!"
Pidge heard Keith's scream and ran to Lances room.
"Oh my god."
"Pidge help me carry him to the healing bay."
"Allura help please!"
"What happened!?"
"Just get a pod ready!"
Lance was back in a pod.
"Allura..do you think it will heal his voice box now?" Hunk questioned Allura.
"I don't know."

All the "memories" faded after he saw all of his family.
"Allura how much longer its been 4 Quintants."
"Any second now, Pidge do you have the voice thing ready."
"Yup."
Then the pod opened. Lance fell into Keiths arms.
"Lance we have the new voice thing ready, do you want it?"
Lance just sat there. Thinking.
"Lance?"
Lance nodded.
"Do you want it now?"
He nodded again.
"Pidge, go ahead."
Time skip
"ce......nce.....ance.....Lance. Good your up. Go on try to talk." Keith seemed so calm even though the situation.
"Um....does this sound ok?" He sounded almost the exact same just a little lower.
"Perfect Lance!" Allura squealed.

"Allura, its been almost been1deca pheob. Is he even alive?" Keith questioned.
"The vitals show he is in like a dream state since the attack."
"That doesn't make any sense!" Keith yelled.
"Actually it does. Sometimes the pod won't let them out because they are afraid of when they wake up. So they keep the person asleep." Coran explained.
"We need him out. Allura can you get him out." Shiro questioned.
"Shiro I am sorry there is no way. He has to be able to do it himself he has to feel ready to wake up."
"How long will that take?"
"Pidge it can take a long time. Maybe never."
"But we can't lose Lance he is valuable to the team!" Hunk exclaimed.
"Yes I know Paladins but we can't rush it."
Keith was on the floor in front of the pod.
Come on Lance I-we need our sharp shooter. I can't be alone. I need you.
"th...eith....Keith!"
"Huh?"
"You haven't talked in a while."
"Just thinking."
"Ok."

"Oh one last thing Lance before the mission. This isn't real."
"Allura what do you mean?"
"You have been in a healing pod for a long time."
Allura turned into a woman with blue hair.
"Lance you can't leave me. Yes I can find a new cub but who am I kidding I can't lose another."
"Blue?"
"Yup its me! Anyway all of the things that you see are fake. You are asleep in a pod. The red cub is sad."
"Keith. He would never."
"He is Red tells me he spends free time waiting for you to wake up. Or crying inside Red."
"Really?"
"Yes and the rest of the paladins to. They are afraid you won't wake up."
"So you are just making a fancy way of telling me to wake up."
"Yes so go on. Wake up young cub."

"Keith come on he's not going to wake up." Shiro tried to tell Keith
"No Shiro he will wake up."
Just then the pod opened.
"Wait Blue." Lance said as he fell out of the pod.
"Lance you're awake!"
"Keith? Did you really care about me."
"Yes, why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know?"
"Lance do you want any food you have been in there for a year." Shiro asked
"Wait really!? A year!"
"Yup." Keith answered.
"Well then, yes I would like some food."
