Lin's POV

I just performed the first song for Hamilton in the White House. Of course they laughed. I laughed too. They laugh now, but just wait. It'll be amazing when it's all finished.

I decided to FaceTime Phillipa. She probably wanted to know I got here safely so she could tell Tobi. It rang until it said unavailable. I frowned and tried again. After the fourth ring she answered.

"Hey!" She smiled. "Sorry I didn't pick up the first time. Helping someone move in." She laughed.

"Who the hell are you talking to?!" I heard a voice in the background.

"Tobi's dad." Phillipa laughed.

"Oh! Hi!" Phillipa turned the phone towards her friend and she waved.

"Hello!" I smiled. "I'm Lin." I introduced.

"Jasmine!" The girl smiled.

"How's Tobillio?" I asked Phillipa. She flipped the camera around and I saw my little puppy chewing on her chew toy on the floor. "Aw my baby!" I cooed.

"She's been a good pupper." Phillipa smiled while turning the camera back around. "She's been sleeping in my bed so she's been good."

"Good, good. I just wanted to check in on her. Make sure she didn't miss me too much." I smiled.

"Alright. Well, call whenever you feel like talking to her." Phillipa smiled. Oh how I wish I could just talk to her... She looked so cute with her hair done up like that... All messy...

"Just don't bother us at night because we get freaky." Jasmine winked while putting her hands on Phillipa's head.

"Don't listen to her. She's the freaky one." She laughed. I shook my head at their friendship quirks and laughed to myself. These were my neighbors now. I said my goodbyes and hung up the phone. I didn't know what I was going to do now. She was so cute, but now she had a roommate... How was that going to change things? It's not like I ever did try a move on her... I wanted to ask her out on a date but the most I got was a trip to the store and back...

Pippa's POV

Jasmine was fully unpacked before the sun had gone down finally. I sat in my robe as did she with our pajamas underneath. I was shocked that she had the same routine as me almost. She was just as clean thank god.

"Ten bucks says I can make it into that trash can." She smirked.

"I will deliberately stand in front of the trash can so you don't make it." I laughed she shrugged and threw it over my head. I hit the balled up wrapper back at her and smiled. "I told you!"

"Remember when we used to jam out to anything?" She smiled while picking up her wrapper.

"God those were the days! Not a care in the world." I sighed. I missed those days. College days where I wasn't worried about debt and I wasn't worried about where my next meal was going to come from.

"You should get back out there and audition again." She said while sitting next to me.

"I don't know... I'm already behind on life." I groaned. She put her hands on my shoulder and looked at me.

"You have the prettiest voice ever and you're just going to throw all of that out?!" She gasped. "Who are you?!" She yelled.

"I'm Pippa!" I yelled back. "Pippa that's just not ready for it all again..." I sighed. "It was hard enough being rejected from little musicals but huge productions were even worse." I frowned.

"Pippa, they were just dumb and blind. Trust me. Please try it again. There has to be something you can do..." she frowned and looked into my eyes. I shrugged and stood up from the couch. "Pip."

"I'm gonna go to bed... I need to get up early for my shift tomorrow." I sighed. I left the living room and heard the little jingling of Tobi behind me. I was going to need cuddles tonight alright.

Lin's POV

I tossed and turned in the hotel room bed. Maybe Phillipa would still be up.. I pulled out my phone and video called her. It was answered and I was met with a snout.

"Hey Tobi." I laughed. "Sorry I'm calling so late."

"It's fine." Phillipa sighed. "How's D.C.?" She asked.

"Boring. How's New York?" I smiled.

"Honestly, its quiet for once." She said while looking towards a window in her room. I frowned and knew something was up with her.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"It's nothing to worry about." She shrugged. "Tobi misses you." She said while putting the phone in front of Tobi. I smiled a bit then saw her behind Tobi. She looked so upset...

"Okay, I can't help but worry about you." I frowned.

"It's nothing honest. It's my problem I have to deal with." She shrugged.

"Roommate troubles?" I asked. She shook her head. "Um.. I don't know. You're gonna have to give me a hint." I laughed.

"Lin, it's fine. I need to work on it by myself. I don't need help." She frowned. "I don't want to talk about it. Especially with you. It'll sound terrible." She sighed. I frowned and cocked my head to side a bit. "It will trust me." She sighed.

"How so?" I asked her. She shook her head and ran her hand through her hair. Tobi moved next to her to where she was looking at her in a more comfortable position. "Phillipa, please let it out." I frowned.

"I came to New York to work on stage. Not be a waitress in a restaurant..." she sighed. "But I've auditioned for multiple things and haven't heard anything from anyone. I'm just gonna keep working like this until I possibly die so yeah..." She shrugged and I noticed she had tears in her eyes. "I told you it was terrible."

"Phillipa... Please don't say that. I get it. It's really hard in this world. But I promise you that one role is out there for you." I smiled. "Don't give up. Please?" I pleaded. She nodded and gave a little smile. "There's that smile. When I get back I can help you with your portfolio. That way you can get some good shows." I winked.

"Alright. I should sleep... I have an early shift tomorrow." She frowned. We said our goodbyes and I smiled. I actually talked to her about something other than Tobi... I was making my way in. Slowly, very, very slowly, but I was getting there.
