you hear your bedroom door open, followed by footsteps and then the door closing again. you glance over and see ethan stripping off his clothes before throwing on a pair of basketball shorts.
he climbs into bed and immediately wraps his arms around you
you turn towards him and see a faint smile on his lips "why are you up?" he asks with a deep voice
"i was waiting for you" you whisper
"why?"
"you're my teddy bear"
he laughs quietly before peppering kisses all over your face "you're adorable. now get some sleep"
you nod and cuddle further into him

the next day, you woke up and looked at the empty space next to you.
you check your phone and see that ethan left a text
'at gym with gray'
you smile and walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. leaning against the counter is a life size teddy bear
you gasp and read the note
'now don't go replacing me,
but here's someone for you when i can't be'

you run and jump on the bear, landing on nothing but soft stuffing and fur
you grab your phone and facetime ethan
he answers after the second ring, his sweaty face appearing on the screen
e: hey baby. what's up
y: baby, you didn't have to get me this
e: *laughs* i wanted to baby. now you can get to sleep and not have to wait for me
y: i didn't mind waiting for you. also, thank you so so so so much e
e: *laughs* anything for you babe. see ya later, okay?
y: okay bye
you hang up and drag the extremely heavy and huge bear to the living room. you lay on it and turn netflix on. only six more hours until ethan came home. only six more hours to bond with your new teddy bear.
