there was a gathering in the backyard with a bunch of people that y/n didn't care to socialize with. she walks out of her house and down the porch stairs, catching everyone's attention, but she didn't dare to make eye contact with any of them. y/n simply kept her head down as she quickly walks past them.
at the table, grayson bumped ethan's shoulder. "go tell her" he whispered to his brother
ethan shakily nodded his head and walked towards y/n. she saw a glimpse of ethan and looked up at him, for he was taller than her. she smiled at him and he blushed at her gesture, smiling back.
ethan walked beside y/n not sure where they were going, but he didn't mind, for he had a crush on y/n and he was running through different scenarios in his head of how he would tell her and how she would react. all of them ended in her saying she didn't like him back and ethan being crushed. but he told grayson that he would tell y/n how he felt and ethan wasn't a one for breaking promises.
y/n walks towards the park with a smile on her face. It was a beautiful day and she wasn't going to let it go to waste. y/n decides to grab ethan's hand, swinging them back and forth. ethan's blush darkens from the contact of her soft hand.
they arrive at the park hands still intertwined. y/n starts to walk towards the bench so she can sit, but ethan gently tugs on her hand, catching her attention.y/.n turns towards him as ethan takes a deep breath, preparing himself for what he is about to say and how she is about to react.
"is something wrong, ethan?" y/n asks, worried about her best friend
ethan shake his head "no, but i have to tell you something"
"okay, i'm listening"
"I-i like you" ethan says,
the words rush out of his mouth as he looks at the ground, for he is embarrassed . embarrassed that he just told the girl of his dreams those three words when she obviously didn't feel the same way.
y/n feels so many different emotions hit her at once. she is giddy for a reason that she didn't realize was there before. she likes ethan.
"ethan" y/n says
ethan slowly raises his head, looking into her beautiful eyes.
she smiles her perfect smile "I like you too"
ethan is in shock. never, in a million lifetimes would did he imagine that y/n would like him back. he's at a loss for words at this unbelievable situation.
y/n doesn't hesitate to smash her lips onto his and ethan finds himself kissing back. every emotion he has been keeping beneath the surface, comes rushing out. every time he's wanted to tell y/n how beautiful she looks. every time he wanted to kiss her right then and there, but didn't have the balls to do so. every time he wanted to fall asleep and wake up to her in the most innocent sense of the phrase. now, he had the courage to do all those things, for y/n likes him back and he couldn't be happier.
"y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" ethan asks without even thinking, for he was caught up in the moment.
"yes" y/n answers, for she was caught up in the moment as well
ethan smiles and kisses her again, in pure bliss.
