you start to walk over to your best friend, but stop once you see a girl all over him.
you gather yourself and walk to them "hey eth"
he looks over at you and nods before engaging back in his conversation with that girl
you scoff and walk away, hearing footsteps come after you shortly after
suddenly a hand grabs your arm and gently turns you. ethan looks into your eyes with a look of disappointment
"why'd you leave?" he asks
"you were too busy talking to that girl"
his face hardens "i was just trying to be polite. she's an old friend"
"you were nice to her, but you pushed me to the side like i was nothing. looks like it's out with the new and in with the old"
his face softens "i didn't mean to"
"but you did"
you walk to your car and jump in, starting the engine and speeding away.
you didn't mean to be so mean to ethan. it wasn't his fault that you caught feelings for him without him knowing.
you circle back and decide to apologize to him. you park and walk over to where ethan and that girl were sitting
as you get closer, you see that girl smash her lips on his
you gasp as ethan pushes her away and looks at you "y/n"
you shake your head and walk down the street, away from them
"y/n" he calls from behind you
you continue to walk away, ignoring him
he grabs your arm and makes you face him "she forced me into it. i didn't want it"
you stare at the ground and mumble "i want to be that girl"
"what?"
you look up into his hazel-green eyes "i want to be that girl" you say louder
he gives you a confused look
"i want to be that girl who attracts all the guys and kisses them for no reason. i want to be that girl who doesn't have to worry about being pretty because she knows that she's gorgeous. i want to be that girl-"
he cuts you off "why would you want to be anyone other than yourself?"
"because girls like that get guys like you"
he stares at you, scanning your face with his beautiful eyes "i don't want you to be that girl. i want you to be my girl"
