i wake up and roll onto my side, slowly opening my eyes. a wave of panic crashes over me when i realize that my boyfriend, ethan, isn't in bed. in place of his body is a crisp piece of white paper. it reads: 'good morning my beautiful, nery. hope your sleep was pleasant. it's your birthday and i want it to be special. throw on some casual clothes and go to the place where we first met'
i smile widely and jump out of bed, throwing on a red top, ripped jeans, and white converse. i grab my note and run down the stairs, heading to the place where we first met.

i arrive at the park and see nate garner standing out front with a rose and piece of paper in his hand.
i walk up and give him a bear hug
"this is for you, princesa hermosa" (it means beautiful princess)
i smile and i take them from him. the note reads: 'that one was easy, i must admit. now go to the place where the guy that was flirting with you, almost got hit'
i smile "thanks nate"
"your welcome, bye"
"bye" i call out as i drive away.

i arrive at the frozen yogurt place and see kian lawley standing out front with a rose and note in his hand.
i give him a hug "it's good to see you"
"it's good to see you too. i believe these are for you" he says handing me the rose and note. it reads: 'that one makes me hungry but hears a another one. head to the place where you go after the day is done'
i smile and jump in my car after saying goodbye to kian.
i drive back to where i started and go to my room.
a beautiful red dress is laying on my bed along with a note and another rose.
i pick up the note. it reads: 'that last one was a little sad, so here's one that isn't all too bad. put on this dress and glam yourself up. then meet me where i gave you that cheesy pickup'
i smile and put on the dress (pic above. btw i love nina)
i curl my hair and put on some gold heals. i look at myself once more in the mirror before i head down the stairs.

i arrive at perch, my favorite restaurant with a view.
i walk in the door and to the hostess.
"name please" he says
"nery" i answered
"ah, right this way"
i follow him and let him lead me to my lover
in a secluded room, at the back of the restaurant, a table for two was set with candles lit.
i sit in front of ethan and smile "you are so sweet for doing all of this for me. you could've just watched netflix with me all day and i would've been more than happy"
he laughs "i know you would've, but i wanted to make today special"
i smile and laugh "you're adorable"
he blushes "so i've been told"

dessert arrives and ethan looks nervous
"are you okay?" i ask placing my hand on top of his
he nods
a minute of silence passes before ethan pulls a small black box out of his pocket
suddenly, my throat feels dry and i feel like i can't speak
"this isn't an engagement ring. i'm not marrying you just yet, we're young. we've got time. but this is a promise ring. a promise that i'll love you forever. a promise that i will marry you in the future. only if you accept it of course"
i nod my head in shock. he places the ring on my finger and kisses my lips
"you're the one i'm going to marry" he whispers
