They say our country stands for freedom,
And they could never be more wrong.
How does it look like freedom,
When someone's parent kills their dog?
When they spend their lives feeling worthless,
Because that's all they've ever known?
When they go out and they rape,
Because that's what they've been shown?
When they hide in a closet,
Trying not to breathe,
For fear that if they're heard,
Dad will start to scream?
When they try to be perfect,
So their mom will show them love?
When they think life's not worth it,
So they watch themselves drip blood?
Our country knows no freedom,
Just like parents know no love.
And children know no better,
Because our society sucks.
