Trying to make it on my own,
Trying to get though this.
Trying to fit into smaller clothes,
Trying to be just a toothpick.
Trying to do it by myself,
Trying to figure it out.
Trying to reach the sky,
Trying not to shout.
Trying to be perfect,
Trying to still be kind.
Trying for this to be worth it,
Trying to earn a dime.
Trying to just be "normal,"
Trying to be a good friend.
Trying to be a bit more formal,
Trying not to end up dead.
Trying to be different,
Trying to be just the same.
Trying for my heart to be splinted,
Trying to forget all the names.
Trying to dress how I want to,
Trying to dress how I should.
Trying to write this impromptu,
Trying to make it good.
Trying to be a good student,
Trying to be a good kid.
Trying to know how to do this,
Trying to find where love was hid.
Trying to figure life out,
Trying to become who I want.
Trying not to get too down,
Trying to pick my life's font.
