Lizzy went back to sleep but was woken up at around 8:45 by the smell of bacon. She went downstairs where all the other girls were talking.
“Oh there’s the sleepy-head. I’m loving her hair right now. What about ya’ll?” Michaela expressed happily.
“Oh it’s definitely date worthy.” Lizzy rejoined, while she was running her fingers through her curly blonde hair, trying to tame her hair. She sat down next to Sassy, who was hurriedly eating her breakfast of gluten free pancakes and scrambled egg whites. Lizzy always wondered why she chose to eat gluten free, where as Callie was allergic to wheat. Lizzy ate her breakfast and told everyone about her early morning call.
“ That sounds so great! I am so happy for you! You are going to sign with them right? I think you should. Then you can be a couch potato getting inspiration from the TV. And you would be doing something that you love.” Callie remarked.
“Yea, I am. But”
“OK guys wish me luck I am going to Swish!! Love you! Talk to ya’ll later!” Sassy interrupted.
“As I was saying, I am going to sign, but I am not totally sure what will be expected, and I do not know what their sound is. So I guess I will call Mr. Davidson, and tell him that I am signing, but would like to meet with the band or artist. So I am going to go do that right now.” And she left the room.
“Hey, Michaela so when is your meeting with Free People? I have to be at the Swim place by 10.” Callie asked.
“ I am needed at the meeting at 9:30, so it would be great if you could drive me. But you will be a little early to work.” Michaela replied
“That is ok. I wanted to be early anyways, to make a good impression and all.”
“Ok great. So let’s leave in 20 minutes.”
“Sounds good.” Michaela left the kitchen/dining area and walked two doors over to her room. She was extremely nervous about this meeting. Free People was her favorite clothing line, and modeling for them was her dream. Michaela had already prepared her dirty blonde hair in curls, so all that was left was to put on her favorite eye makeup to bring out her pale blue eyes. Finally, she was ready. She looked like a Barbie doll compared to Callie. Callie was in her favorite one piece and her hair puled back into a messy braid. Sometimes Michaela was jealous of how Callie never had to dress up for anything, but Michaela loved her work and was always proud of herself. Callie drove Michaela where she needed to go, and Callie was thankful that she had made the investment into a GPS for her old jeep. Everyone but Michaela had their license, because Michaela’s family had a chauffeur. So Michaela never learned how to drive a car. As soon as Michaela walked into the building, Callie started to blast Country music. The girls were from Texas, but decided to move to London for the experience. They all had their college degree, but needed some time off to think about what they wanted to do with their lives in the US. Callie drove to Swimming is Cool, parked her car, and walked inside. She was prepared to face the day. Her gym bag was packed with extra girl supplies (for those days), Advil, two towels, goggles, two t-shirts, a sports bra, two Nike shorts, flip-flops, sunscreen, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and body and face soap. She walked to the front area; the receptionist noticed that Callie was a new face and showed Callie the manager’s office. She walked in “Hi, I am Callie. I believe we talked on the phone.” For the second before he replied, Callie took a good look at him. He had dark brown hair with beautiful brown eyes.
“Well Hey, I’m Sam. Glad to know that you are punctual. I cannot believe that I found you. You trained for the Olympics right?”
“ I did for a while, but then the money for training became too much for my family to support, since they also had to support my two younger sisters. ”
“ You were the person that everyone looked forward to seeing, but you dropped out. I am just so happy to have you teaching here. So now that we have introductions out of the way and we have talked about your past experience. Wow, this seems to be more like an interview than a first day pep talk. So, here is your schedule. You have a private lesson from 10-11:45 . Then at 12-1 you are teaching a class of little kids age 2 with their moms. And at 2-3:45 you have another class but this time the kids are 8-12 and there are about 6 per class. And from 4-5:45 you have a private lesson with a guy named Zayn. But I need you to sign a contract that you will not talk about this lesson. He has never swum before, and I thought that you might be a good person to have teach this guy.” Sam .
“ Are you sure you want me teaching this guy? Maybe you should teach him. I am the new kid here.”
“No, I think you will be great for this. So your first private lesson is in a little bit, so I will show you your office.” Sam showed Callie her small office, and he handed her the schedule for the 2-year-old class. She looked at the schedule and thought this will be a long day ahead of me. She sat down in her chair and checked her phone to see if any of her friends had called her. Lizzy had left a voicemail for Callie.
