Quietly she walked into the room. “Hey, don’t cry. I know you miss your family, but everything will be ok. This is an adventure of a lifetime.” Sassy expressed, trying to comfort her friend.
“ I know, but sometimes I miss seeing pickup trucks everywhere, hearing my mom’s laugh, and watching my dog, Tilly, follow my dad and Tyson, the other dog, slobbering all over me. Those little things are the things that I miss the most. All of ya’ll seem to be adapting to London so well, and I do not seem to fit. Yes, I have a job, and I meet with the band tomorrow, but I feel so out of place, like as though I have a sign on my forehead saying ‘I am a clumsy American who is trying to fit in with the sleek British culture’. It sucks. I miss my home so much. My family means so much to me, and I even miss Tyson slobbering all over me. And I miss Carter and Ramsey. No one seems to understand how homesick I feel. I am thinking about moving back home. I will see how tomorrow goes, and then I will decide after that.”
“Ok, I that is really what you want. I suggest that you tell everyone that you are thinking of leaving. Don’t just pick up and leave. Well, you should sleep so that you don’t look bad tomorrow with meeting the band. Well, sleep tight.”
Sassy went to the kitchen and ate 3 Twix because she was so depressed.
The morning came, and Lizzy woke up and prepared herself for the day. She would either go home in the next week or stay in London. She loved her friends but her family meant the world to her. Lizzy left the house before anyone else woke up. She wanted to spend a little time to herself, and not surrounded by noise. She drove around the city, looking at all the sights that tourists look forward to seeing. Thought to herself, I should be happy that I am here, but I have never been so far away from my family for so long. I have only been here 2 weeks but still. I miss my mom and dad and Richard and Ellen and Nick. She walked around to find a Starbucks. She grabbed a hot chocolate, chocolate muffin, and a biscuit with bacon and eggs. She walked along the Thames and seeing the Thames reminded her of her Geography class freshman year. Her teacher loved history so much and her favorite was English history. Lizzy started to cry. She sat down put her head in her hands, and sobbed. “hey, Hey, don’t cry. Please don’t cry. It will be ok. Just please don’t cry.” Lizzie looked up to see this guy with blond hair and clear blue eyes the color of the water in Hawaii. “Hey come on don’t cry.”
“What time is it?”
“Um, that was random, but it is 9:15”
“Oh, shoot. I have to go. Thanks for trying to help. I would love to talk but I have to go.”
